Larry Csonka

When Larry and I were freshmen on Booth 1, we'd play touch football in Thornden Park and he knocked me on my a$$. He could also press me over his head. (I was MUCH skinnier then.
I was in Watson, then Lawrenson next to Larry at Sadler as a soph,Class of '68 too.

He almost went to Clemson.

he was also a linebacker to start out with. I wonder how he'd be used now.

I still remember a 1971 Monday Night Football game between the Bears and the Dolphins. The Dolphins won 34-3. But those were not the numbers that mattered. The numbers that mattered were:

I counted 4 head-on collisions. It was 2-2 by my judgement. I don't think either man had ever been hit so hard.

I love the fact new coach Dino mentioned Larry during interviews when he was introduced to the press.

My understanding was he didn't go because they weren't doing pizza parties back then ... he only missed out on Dabo by about 50 years ...

Remember Larry in
College All Star game? His statue should be out in the Quad with Monk,Mackey,Harrison, Little Joe,Nance,Donovan,Ringo

Yes I do, college boys against the Packers. He knocked out literally one of the most feared linebackers in the pros Ray Nitschke

I meant to snap a pic, but one of the places I camped the last few days was Sailors Pit, which had a huge sign out front that said something like "Come fish with Larry Csonka!" Don't think he was down there tho
