Anyone else concerned

Game is a week away.

Stating the obvious here, but not sure how they are going to field a team.

Let alone the coaching aspect of it, having lost their HC, OC, and DC.

Crazy.

Not sure how they would queue up a replacement.

We had Nunz as acting HC for our bowl last year.

I’m sure there’s still a waterboy or quality control assistant who can blow a whistle left there.

Next man up, Cougs!

They may already know the # they will have, Fran knew portals before they were announced.

Fox cant be happy with what is going on either. Its their only bowl game and its going to be a complete stinker
I think we are overthinking things in this respect. The casual fan has no idea what's going on with WSU right now. They'll tune in because there is no other football to watch. I agree it might be crappy football, but it's football. And if Kyle is gunning to break ACC records, that's a hook that works even if it's a lopsided blowout. I just hope WSU keeps enough players to actually play -- that's really my only worry and I'm not that worried. The fallout of pulling out this close to game time, with no way to get a substitute, fans with non-cancellable travel plans, etc. would be really, really bad.

The only worry is somehow losing.

i am with you on this. I still am not 100% confident this game actually gets played. Eventually you lose enough guys they arent going to just throw 15 walk ons out there. Really takes the luster out of this game sadly.
What is this thing "luster"?

Assistant head coach and defensive tackles Pete Kaligis will work as interim head coach for the bowl game, WSU said in a Wednesday release, and in the absence of Oklahoma-bound Arbuckle and Kuceyeski, wide receivers coach Nick Edwards is set to call plays in the game.

It would be awesome if they used ChatGPT.

OpenAI should sponsor them.
"Designing an entire offensive playbook for the Washington State Cougars involves considering their strengths, the style of play they typically employ, and the type of opponents they may face. Washington State is known for its up-tempo, pass-heavy offense, often relying on a quick-strike passing attack that emphasizes short to intermediate routes. Their offense typically uses a lot of shotgun formations, spread concepts, and quick decision-making from the quarterback."

It didn't understand my request fully. That's a bit of scope creep.

I am fascinated by ratings. Nielsen ratings always made me skeptical as I would assume that information is extrapolated to include the masses (but I could be way off). I am not asking for super specifics, but can you explain how is viewership accurately measured?
They have no way to really know at your house let alone at a bar where no one can tell how many people are actually watching. You can guess some at tvs that are on. Streaming helps with that since its a different kind of feed than like SAT is.

Thanks. Looks like Scooch doesn’t want to disclose his weatherman statistics.

Why is this line only 14? These guys are decimated. I hope to hell they don't cancel- I have a lot of dough on SU at -6.5 and -7.

Players voted and they are allowing players who have entered the portal to play with the team in the Holiday Bowl. From their AD

If he plays the line will jump back and create a huge middle for some.

If I were Oklahoma, I would prefer to protect my investment and require him NOT to play. Any player that has signed with another team is likely not playing, I would think.
Their Associate HC / DT coach said anyone NOT signed could play even if they were in the portal for the bowl game. They know already.

Measurement is an art, you don't necessarily need to observe things directly.

Say you have a ruler and need to measure the thickness of a sheet of paper. That's tough. But you can measure a stack of 500 sheets and then divide the result by 500. The result is imperfect, but good enough for most purposes.

We need a new starter at each level of the defense…Edge, linebacker and corner. Maybe safety too. I think the biggest need is a day where we teach how to tackle, because it made our defense look 100 times worse by missing tackles then it could have been.

At a really broad level, there's basically 2 major methodologies in TV measurement these days. Nielsen largely employs a panel method. They have about 40,000 homes with Nielsen TV metering technology installed. That data is cleaned and weighted to represent the U.S. population.

Other measurement firms (including mine) employ a big data method. They measure viewing on millions of smart TV sets via a process called Automated Content Recognition. Now, that data also has to be cleaned and weighted represent the U.S. population, but its coming from millions of more inputs than a panel.

Both my firm and Nielsen include what's called "out of home" viewing in their audience projections. We do it very differently, however.
