Last Nights Announcers

So Higgins stepped in halfway or Higgins did the whole game? He and Matt couldn't sound more different. Tenor vs. bass.

Higgins did the entire game. I turned in for the kickoff and don't know what explanation, if any, was given before that.

If only Matt Park hosted a weekly radio show where someone could call and ask him what happened? ;)

I'm wondeirng if he'll host it this week or will we get Higgins?

Agreed, although I was hoping Anish would correct some of the other guys mispronunciations at some point.

If any of you recall the "I Wanna Be a Sportcaster" reality show competition that ESPN had a while back, Anish was on it. Not sure how he finished, but I think he lasted a while, maybe to the final two.

I thought he tried to...whenever the color guy would mis-pronounce a name, Anish would follow it up my saying the player's first and last name...think we was subtley trying to correct him...

Maybe Matt met up with those Clemson fans who bought the other poster $50 worth of Fireball shots and passed out in a corner......

I really hope Matt is ok. He went to clemson, didn't broadcast the game, and hasn't tweeted once. Definitely strange. Radio guys just said they aren't able to comment on it

Honestly, the only egregious error was "Hickley." I really don't know what this complaining is about. If you can do better, get on broadcast radio or cable television.

Agreed.

We hit an all time low with the announcing last night. Aside from the usual mispronunciations of our players like Sean Hickley, there was an egregious lack of knowledge of our team. Combine that with the love affair with clemson and lack of respect for our progam and I was ready to hit the mute button. Where the hell do they find these people?
Typical SU fan, bashing either the announcers or refs. Crazy.

He also messed up Broyld, a couple different ways IIRC.

I can get by an occasional isolated mispronunciation, but it gets annoying when the mistake is repeated over and over. Someone needs to get in his earpiece and correct him.

Um no I went to school with pbp announcer from last night Anish Schroff he is a SU fan thru and thru. He called out the you Dabo stuff from last year. He was clearly pissed after the Long INT right after SU picked off Strout.
The announcers were fine the color guy was fine. Anish was asking Stoutter if Long was the QB of the future like a fan. Stouter had no clue but the announcers were fine.
Schroff wasn't that bad in the broadcast -- especially since there wasn't much to talk about offensively for SU. My main complaint is that the crew spent 5 ph**king minutes talking about the FB playoff. It's so infuriating when ESPN crews interrupt live broadcasts to talk about unrelated sports topics that should be reserved for analysis shows or sportscenter. If you're there to call the game, do your job.
