Latest bowl update from Jerry Palm...

surprised he has mich. st. in a bcs game
If Missouri wins tonight, the winner of Auburn-Missouri will be #1 in the BCS standings and play FSU in the National Title game. Doesn't matter if Ohio St goes unbeaten and wins the Big 10 Title game.

ESPN already has crunched the numbers

In annapolis vs. North Texas. Ok I have to be honest. I'd rather stay home other than the fact we have a chance to have a winning season.

I'm betting Md goes to Annapolis. They'd have the best attendance probably.

That's crap. Far too much respect for the SEC.

Is there a possibility that Notre Dame could end up in the Heart of Dallas Bowl against Rice, Maryland in Annapolis, and SU on 161st and River?

Doubt it...but maybe a deal for a better bowl than that. Notre Dame knows they are going to MetLife next September.

Frazier he expects Syracuse to land in the pool of bowl games outside of the ACC's automatic tie-ins.

"What we assume is that we'll get placed in one of those other bowls that are an at-large bowl that one of the other conferences could not fill," Frazier said. "That's what we believe will happen at this point. The conference is diligently working to secure one of those spots from us and we'll go from there."

That leaves the most likely options for Syracuse as the Beef O'Brady's Bowl in Tampa (Fla.), the Little Caesar's Bowl in Detroit, the Pinstripe Bowl in New York, the Heart of Dallas Bowl in Dallas and Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego.

Syracuse is also an option for some of the lower-level ACC bowls including the Military Bowl (Annapolis, Md.), Music City Bowl (Nashville) and Independence Bowl (Shreveport, La.). The Orange has been projected to the Military Bowl by Jerry Palm, a destination that makes geographic sense.

Shreveport is my guess

That was the "guess" of others at the Dome today.

a lot is going to depend on bcs standings to see who is eligible for the orange bowl's second spot and whether northern Illinois stays in top 16 and ahead of ucf

Mr. Frazier should realize that is not entirely true. I see Cuse ahead of Pitt in the bowl pecking order...and possibly ahead of BC.

I don't see the poinsettia bowl as I'm assuming they will take the extra pac 12 team, this assumes only 1 pac 12 makes bcs

I'm (pretty) sure his words wouldn't make a difference, but Frazier shouldn't be so dismissive of SU going to an ACC bowl. Nothing is gained by saying that. Come on man.

Agree, I'd be pretty shocked if Maryland isn't playing in that game. The only reason I could think otherwise is if Annapolis thinks they can get more hotel stays, more restaurant and bar activity by picking someone else. The town loves its tourism. The Maryland fans will day trip it.
