Elijah Herring actually had less tackles this year than he had at Tennessee the year prior but had several more impact plays this season in Memphis. Note that he actually lead Tennessee in tackles in 2023 with 79 tackles.

Also Pro Football Focus gave him a 69.0 grade for 2024 which is pretty strong over the course of a season with a very impressive 87.3 run defense grade.

Former Tennessee linebacker Elijah Herring is entering the transfer portal after one season with the Memphis Tigers, he announced on social media Thursday.

Herring played at Tennessee for two seasons in 2022 and 2023 before switching to Memphis for the 2024 season.
