Who said Lequint was holding us back?

LQA made huge plays at the end but he breaks those tackles because that defense was totally gassed at the end, let's not forget that. But totally gutsy performance by him after the knee injury.
That UNLV player is a stud, he was making tackles and plays all night. LeQuints two runs though were season changing plays. All props to him.

LQA gets shoe tackled a lot. Too much. High knees, better blocking, whatever. Needs fixed.

Breaks 2 undeniably huge plays, one of which was a walk off TD. Scores the 4 TDs. He & McCord & Gadsen are the reasons we won this game.

Yasin Willis averaged 8 yards per carry, does not get shoe tackled, he needs more opportunities.

Worried more about our defense & specials though.

Some people need to rewatch that game and see some of the blitz protection LA did for McCord. There's a reason why you see McCord run over and help LA up after some plays. Cuz LA also protects McCord.
And yeah I want Wallis getting reps as well. Dude delivers runs and pain. When he gets 2nd level, DBs want no part of his 228 pounds barrelling toward them.

Think the last play represents him as a player. Plays hard every game. Way to go LQA!
Never questioned his heart, he wouldn't have gone through all the things he did if he didn't have it.
Still believe he makes it at the next level as a backup because he is a great receiver, and will almost always make the catch and first down on 3rd and short.

I mean I do think some criticism is fair to give. He lacks the speed to beat LBs to the outside when he has a step on them. He also hasn’t broken many shoe string tackles which could have gone for huge gains.

I don’t think any one questions his heart, tenacity and his ability to catch the ball. The kid is truly a warrior. His pass blocking has been awesome, he’s able to either stay in and help or bump and get out to be threat for McCord.

It also doesn’t help that out oline doesn’t open up many lanes to run thru and so he presses trying to make the right call before it’s open. It’s a tough position to be in.

He’s a beast.

The man is an absolute beast, I can't believe that there were some here saying he wasn't even a good RB last week. He's the heart and soul of this team.

I don't think we win this game last night without him. He was quoted today saying he would die for his teammates.

At one point in the game when he got tackled at the LOS it looked like he was just too slow, almost like he was trying to run as fast as he could to make up for his lack of natural speed and sacrificing power. Then Willis broke a long run and looked so fast AND powerful doing it and I started to think he needed to get the bulk of the touches the rest of the game. Then Allen fought for that first down on 4th and 1 and then did the same thing on the winning touchdown. I was wrong.

Yes! That 4th down run was as big as the winning touchdown run. Otherwise, it would have been over. It showed a huge heart.

The ankle tackles are frustrating, but he big boy’d a couple runs tonight.
Ill never say anything bad about Quint but I saw at least 5 times he got ankle tackled. Hes a quarter step away from being very very good and playing on Sundays. Ill take him on my NFL team as RB2/3, as is.
Seems like a perfect 3rd down back + STs.
Ive said it before...he gives me Zaire Franklin vibes in that he is uncuttable.

when McCord has time. This is one of the best offenses in the country. Allen, Willis, OG, Peña, Meeks, even Gill, Hatcher and Zeed when he comes back can all make plays. We have the playmakers.

We just need to figure out this defense and special teams. I honestly think special teams can be easy fix. I don’t like calling for jobs but the coordinator has to go. A half competent special teams coach would be fine. Stonehouse is a very good punter, the blocking is the problem. And I actually think Oh is a pretty decent kicker. But once again it’s the blocking that’s the problem. Blocking is strictly on the coach in special teams and not knowing your gaps and who to block falls on the coach. My biggest concern is defense and Elijah. Man he is disappointing
I feel like our strategy on defense is a result of how good our offense is. Dont give up big plays, make them play more plays and hope they make mistakes.
If our offense was mediocre I feel like we would be more aggressive and take chances. Technically our Def gave up what? 24...STs 14 and OT 3. If our Def gives up 24 we rarely lose.
Let our Offense win and not risk our defense losing the game.
Ive seen very good adjustments on Def. I mean remember the adjustment against Ga tech? Without Wax and turning Fadil into Micah Parsons...It worked. Switching Barron to LB and Grant to Star...it worked. If we were 2-3 id be concerned. When we are 4-1 with 2 top 25 wins, Im not complaining...
except about STs. And I mean come on It shouldnt be very hard to fix at least to serviceable.
