This board went into complete meltdown mode once Black Monday hit. We have people pointing fingers at the BOT, at Marrone himself, at the administration, etc.

What we've all realized is that, we as a fanbase appreciate what Marrone has done and most, if not all, feel they would prefer he stay on the sidelines of the Dome for a few more years, if not another few decades. We've also realized the program is finally heading in the right direction and it's starting to show through many voicing their opinions regarding the IPF and their abilities/willingness to invest personally, no matter what size the amount.

At first I thought this may be just some play to gain leverage against the BOT. What I forgot was that maybe it's not just the responsibility of the BOT, but also us as a fanbase to finally show that we can support what we want out of the team. We have been bi*ching and moaning about how poor the SU football team has been for close to a decade. Finally, we were able to get a taste of what success feels like and like most fanatics, we want more. We want more, but haven't been able/willing to show that we want it.

I feel like this is a wake-up call to our ENTIRE program; the BOT, the administration, the fanbase.. We're at a huge crossroads and need to take a stand one way or another, whether Marrone stays or leaves for a new challenge. Either way, the entire community needs to back this team and to do so for better or worse, or watch as we become similar to BC.

We expect our coach to win. In order to win, we expect him to recruit high-level recruits. In order to do so, he feels he needs improvements to the facilities, most notably an IPF. The BOT says that they won't foot the entire bill. We, as a fanbase, agree that an IPF would be great for our program. But we, as a whole, stand on the sidelines and point fingers at the BOT, who is pointing the fingers at us to pony up the $$$..

If the program fails, it's on all parties involved (again, the fans, BOTs and admin). Instead of flooding the inboxes of TGD, HCDM, or any of the BOT, complaining about the situation we're in, why don't we all send emails asking for what we can do to help? How can we donate time, money, support to help the program move in the way we want it to.

Cutting to the chase: Donate Money. Buy tickets.

Spend time going to the Dome for games.

Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

And find 10,000 others to do the same.

Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Great ideas all.

If there are 40,000 fannies in the Dome for a football game, and every fanny cuts a $100 check, that's only $4 million. We need a much broader alumni effort, or at least one big donor to come forward.

Times 7 home games plus concessions.
