Let's get this out of the way now - The myth of 15 practices

So what kinds of things will we focus on during the 15 practices?

No idea what we’ll do but many coaches use these practices to get the scout teammers real reps, so they can start to develop their pups. Basically a second spring.

OMG, some of you are hilarious. lol. Nowhere did I say was angry. it's a pet-peave that's all.

Well then, any word on these so-called augmented practice events?

Have any been held? Is there a schedule? Anybody injured or emerging? Coaches on the road so practices are minimal, perfunctory exercises?

Enquiring minds want to know.

There is no such thing as 15 practices for a bowl game. It's 20 hours per week , maximum 4 days. the 15-day rule is for SPRING PRACTICES only. Now, it may be that a school gets about 15 days from the application of the rule, but it is NOT the rule.

Practice rules apply year-round with exceptions based on Spring practice and when your season ends. If you are in a bowl game, your season has not ended, so you still apply the normal 20 hours, 4 days a week rule:

Even if you don't make a bowl, you are allowed certain number of hours of practice, but limited in scope:

Fans and coaches used to really hope gor a bowl for the extension of their season. With the bowls being watered down and devalued, the added practices are gonna be treated by many programs as the start of the next spring instead of an extension and reward for the current season. Its sad, but thats the world we live in. Always looking forward and a chance to give the players next in line not ONLY extra work but even a start or valuable time with the 1's in the bowl game. Especially, your projected qb starter for the upcoming year.

To straight out say "We have 15 practices" is wrong, and a myth. If you want to say "great thing is we get about 15 more practices", fine, but that's not what people communicate.
I'm looking for a nice knife set to buy for a Christmas present. You seem to have a knife capable of splitting the finest of hairs...where'd you get it from?

I don't know but I'm farily certain we should count 'em down though, probably like this:

On the first day of bowl practice, Dino taught to me ... a bootleg from the wing T.
On the second day of bowl practice Dino taught to me...2 hot route reads, and a bootleg from the wing t.

Keep it going.

On the third day of practice Swag Daddy gave to me, three turnover chains, 2 hot route reads and a bootleg from the wing T.

We're 9-3.

Can't people just be happy for 24 hours.

Exactly. You've achieved world peace? What about Khazakstan, I hear Borat is angry.

Cured cancer? I don't know, take a look at this mole.

This is quite some fanbase.

LOL at the Salty Police! Thank you to the OP for this INFORMATIONAL and HELPFUL post. To those claiming the OP is just looking for something to complain about I'd like to introduce you to my little friend...

I mean I get it. We signed Dino. There is nothing wrong anywhere in the world but really I just saw this as enlightening rather than inflaming. I think maybe there's a bit of overreaction here.

Let's get another myth out of the way. 20 hour a week rule. The average FBS player reports 39 hours a week. They're at it from 5 or 6 in the AM til 9 or 10 at night.

"20 hours" is how much is supervised/overseen by coaches & staff directly.
They clearly put in a lot more hours "on their own" - which is how every program gets around the "limitations" put in place by the NCAA.
