Agreed.. i never understood the people that didn't want Big East teams to do well when they play out of conference teams in football or bball.. You should cheer for them until WE play them..then you hate them with a fierce passion. It makes the conference look better, which in turn makes us look better.

YES!!! Thanks for the support. These are the games we have to win as a conference to improve our standing in the football world, not to mention it's very important to us in recruiting the Charlotte area against USuC. We'll cheer for ACC mates all day too - unless it's State ... But I guess I even cheered for them against Tennessee last year.
I sure wish you guys were in our division instead of Pitt!
EDIT: Anybody have an idea where arb is? Haven't seen him post in awhile.

Ha, I didn't even know that's who they opened with. I did mean ALL their games, however. Is there a way both teams could lose that one? I hate the SEC as much as I hate Va Tech.

ACC can really make a name for itself this weekend. Va Tech/ Bama, Clemson/Georgia, Cuse/PSU, UNC/S. Carolina.

I'm with sufandu, I'll root for everyone in the conference to do well, EXCEPT for Va Tech. I will NEVER, EVER root for them in anything. They are the Darth Vader of college football.

I rooted for Big East teams out of conference (within reason). But its not the same with the ACC. I can't just start pulling for teams I always rooted against. Perhaps in a decade or so. I feel no tie to these teams. Its as if I'm a fan of independent Syracuse again.

Im suprised at how easily I've switched allegiances. ACC baby!!!! We actually get to watch real football while rooting for our conference brethren!!!

I don't cheer for teams that we recruit directly against -- teams in our region.
I want ACC teams to do well out of conference right now because it helps the perception of SU. So I had no difficulty cheering for UNC against South Carolina or Clemson against Alabama, right NOW. Once we are all fighting for the same prize, all bets are off. I will only cheer for teams if it benefits SU.
