Lets go wvu!

Wow, you hate to see a team lose like that - but he was sure as shite calling timeout.
Can't call timeout when you don't have possession. There was a scrum on the floor, with no possession established. In the middle of that whole thing, the clock operator decided to prematurely blow his load. Jones was trying to call timeout after the clocked stopped, but he really couldn't because 1) WVU didn't establish possession and 2) the game should have been over.

Refs actually handled it properly.

Clock stopped prematurely. Time expired by the time the refs called the jump ball.

Im watching on espn3 with no sound, did the refs ever blow the whistle?

If the refs weren't calling jump ball it had to be because WVU had possession - he was holding the ball and the Cincy dude was trying to grab it, no? That's what I saw.

I'm fine with the call either way, but it seemed like everyone kind of panicked (clock operator, players, officials).

No. The mistake was solely on the clock operator. There was clearly more than 2 seconds elapsing between the time the clock stopped and when the refs blew the whistle to announce jump ball. OT is the correct call because of clock operator error.

You think if those refs called a T on Jones and UC won it at the line they would make it out or Morgantown?

The are professional bafoons but not idiots.

If thats the case then they made the right call. You go by when the ref blew the whistle.

You can call timeout until the cows come home, but if a Ref doesn't see it and doesn't blow his whistle then it doesn't matter.

Very true, plus the clock does probably expire b4 the timeout if they don't stop it.
