Let's Play UB Every Year

Have you not been watching the MAC over the past 5 years? The teams are consistently getting better and better. Northern Illinois and Ohio U or w.e. for example.
Did you read what I said? The teams are getting better maybe but it's not like the power conferences are going to expand to include UB, so at their absolute best they can make the playoffs as a member of the group of 5.

Everything in that statement is fact. Or did UB not teach you to read?

It makes me laugh when people on this site smash the UB education.

Also I haven't read up on the new playoff system, I care more for college basketball than football. Overall I think the NCAA is a disgrace anyways.

Makes no difference about playoffs/BCS, Syracuse would beat UB and gain more prominence in the Western NY/Canadian recruiting area.

Also it'd satisfy the tens of thousands of SU fans in the Rochester to Niagara area.

I see many positives.

BTW I would not be entirely surprised if Marshall kicked WVU's ass this year.

Do what Big 10, SEC and Big 12 teams do, make them ALWAYS go to your place. They come to SU and that's it, period. I'm sick of the Big East and now ACC schools that go to these places and they get ABSOLUTELY no credit for it...none. It's harder to win at those places and playing H/H or even 2 for 1's is a lose and lose even more situation. The SEC/Big 10/12 know how to schedule OOC for success and never get called on it. Seriously, who has the Big 12 beat OOC and then look at how many of their teams are in the Top 25.

I'm a UB student and not 1 Syracuse football game has been televised. The fact that PSU and Pitt command WNY to an extent is embarrassing.

Another thing I've noticed... I've been to downtown Buffalo and downtown Syracuse this year. UB has more billboards advertising the football program in there city than Cuse does in Cuse! And Buffalo sucks!

The Athletic department NEEDS to step up advertisement.

Do TV's work different in Buffalo? Penn State was ABC and Northwestern was Big 10 Network.

If one could not find the SU-Penn State game on TV, I'd say there are smaller picture problems than SU's advertising.

If we're going to stick ourselves with one annual non conference opponent from a lower division on a 1 for 1 or maybe 2 for 1 basis, I'd prefer it was Temple. Area we recruit, never a true road game, access for plenty of SU fans to catch the game. Not a bad trip, or city to visit, for the Syracuse locals either.

If you are going to play Army away from the Dome, there is ONLY one place to do it, and that's Michie. Why would anyone ever want to do anything else? Late September, early October. Perfect.

th

Be prepared to be disappointed...Sounds like Cuse is playing Army at Yankee Stadium sometime in the next few years. Hopefully it is a 1-1-1 deal.

TrueBlue, I realize you want Buffalo to get games with Syracuse, but it isn't going to happen. Syracuse isn't going to play Buffalo unless they agree to a 2 for 1 and unless they agree to that it won't happen. Syracuse won't play them long term as it won't help recruiting and it won't do much. Miami(Oh), Bowling Green, Akron etc are MAC schools in Ohio which would help recruiting more, and someone else has mentioned Temple is a better game to help with recruiting. Buffalo looks at Syracuse like Syracuse looks at Penn State. Syracuse would love to play Penn State each and every year on even terms, but Penn State is above us nationally. and won't legitimize us by giving us that type of long term deal. Syracuse is doing the same thing to Buffalo and as a private school can't be forced by the NY State legislature to play Buffalo like WVU is forced to play Marshall by the ex-WV Governor current US Senator and Colorado is forced to play CSU by the Colorado legislature.

UB is too tough...they are pick em against UConn this weekend.

Oh wait...

Where did you hear this?

I have a core friend group of Cuse supporters. Not one of us could find the games, except the PSU games 2nd half was televised.

All I asked was a 2 for 1. It's just my wishes, as now a WNY Cuse fan through the school year. I know my desires bare no authority, however I do still see positive gains for SU playing UB. I don't understand how it would not help recruiting...seeing as it's in recruiting territory that we should but do not dominate. UB would easily fill the near 30,000 seat (roughly same size of Cincy's field) stadium.

I don't believe that UB should have the right to play SU annually or bi-annually whatever. I just think it'd be nice for WNY fans and WNY recruiting, along with possibly Northern PA and Canada.

If you don't have the Big 10 network cannot help you. The Tulane game was well distributed and was also an ESPN3 /Gameplan game.

FWIW I have no problem with Cuse doing a 2 for 1 with Buffalo. Our OOC is stupid, we need winnable regional games.

Yankees Stadium? Hmmm...

Well lets look at this in a positive light. It gives us another nationally televised game in a desired recruiting area which we should dominate in the future.

Dude, I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you. Believe me I went through all 110.3, yes 110.3, channels up and down at least 3 times. I watched every game on firstrow.

I live in Austin, TX and watched the PSU and NW games. If I subscribed to the AT&T U-verse sports package, I could have watched Tulane on one of the Fox Sports channels (had to watch on ESPN3 instead). C'mon, Buffalo!

Could just be the channels that the university grants us. However, still disappointed.

I have no problem doing a 2 for 1 with UB. Texas A&M played at SMU. Texas played Rice in Reliant Stadium in Houston. It's OK to play an away game against a lesser opponent if you have a fan base in that area.

Doesn't anyone there have a lap top? An XBox, A car to go to a sports bar?

SU PSU was on ABC, shouldn't be that hard.

NWestern was on BTN, Buffalo TWC and FIOS both have it.

Wagner was on ESPN3, it was only on TWCNY I believe over cable.

Tulane was ACC RSN, and Buffalo TWC and FIOS both have MSG+.

Not sure what the issue is.
