Liberty

Fun game. I wonder if such a W against a powerhouse in Coastal C, if that will elevate them to Top 10 status. Which, if I recall correctly, was practically assured they'd be at year's end after beating VPI. :)

I also have no idea how a redshirt frosh QB at CC, can look as if he not only knows the playbook, but can actually be productive at such greenhorn status. :)
I'm surprised at the RFr comment. We've had two do it at SU. To bad there weren't any scholarship RFr QBs on the team this year.

Cuse got a nice little shout out during the game, something like “Liberty demolished SU” or something to that effect

We looked like a JV team that day. As Dungey and S Smith would say “we better annihilate them” next year

They had a closet full of video tape...

That was what a bowl game used to be: 11-0 vs. 9-1. Not 6-6 vs. 7-5. An exciting back and forth game with a wild ending. It was fun switching back and forth between that and the Dolphins vs. the Raiders, which was decided in the last 16 seconds.

Still the "We want you to score...we don't want to score" sequence was low comedy and ridiculous. As Bees said, just take a knee. Watching a ball carrier get pulled toward the goal line by the defense while trying not to score, only to have a teammate try to push him forward and wind up on his back, causing the fumble was an exercise in absurdity. i agree with the announcers that it symbolized 2020. I think he probably fumbled in the end zone since his feet seemed to be on the goal line when the tight end climbed up over him and forced him forward, at which point he fumbled.

The pro game had a bad play, too. the Raiders had kicked a field goal with 16 second left to take a 25-22 lead. After a touchback, a blown coverage resulted in a 34 yard game with a 15 yard penalty for roughing the passer, (they grabbed his facemask!), put the ball on the Raider's 26, setting up the game winning field goal.
One of my best friends is both a Coastal alum and a big Dolphins fan. Let's just say those sequences you mentioned knocked a few years off his life expectancy due to stress.

It will be interesting to see if Coastal can remain in top 25. They have a shot because McCall is only a Freshman, and could attract some talent. Fun offense with the triple option and a QB that can make the throws too
