Life is weird

Everyone hated The U Part 1. People disliked The U Part 2 because of Part 1. Now people want to hate The U Part 3 but have a hard time bringing up Part 1 because it was so long ago.

If Miami does not win the title, there will be a first time champ for the first time since Florida in 1996. Oregon has at least put in the work the last 25 years. Indiana would be like Baylor winning the NCAAT.

If Indiana makes it, rooting for Miami will be a piece of cake. The thought of Keith Smart having any measure of joy is unacceptable.

I’ll throw this here as well - I don’t put a whole lot of stock into who the white hats and black hats are supposed to be anymore. Because I remember watching the villain Miami Hurricanes lose to the good guy Penn State Nittany Lions in the Fiesta Bowl, when Jerry Sandusky designed what was effectively a zone blitzing scheme nobody had seen before which caused Testaverde to throw five INTs. And being happy because the good guys won.

Everyone’s hat is grey. Shades are different, with some being close enough to black to call it that. There are no white hats anywhere. And we’re not great at correctly analyzing the shade of grey on any particular hat in real time.

The worst boss I ever worked for was a Michigan grad and season ticket holder who would fly back for all their game. I haven’t worked for that POS for over twenty years…but I still have his phone number (and know it’s still his).

It’s taken an ungodly amount of restraint and discipline on my part to not blow up his phone with Moore memes. I’ve settled for enjoying the whole mess knowing with certainty he’s despondent over it. Screw Dave, and screw Michigan.
I didn't know you were Irish.

I wouldnt root for miami if they had a gun to my famllys head
I hate all the Southern teams in the SEC much more than Miami at this point. No way could I root for Ole Miss and their weird celebration of the Confederacy mascot and traditions. Can’t stomach that crap. I was happy to see Miami finally return to the top of the mountain after so many years of trying to get there. Better them than FSU or Clemson at the moment.

I love the fact that the ACC is 9-4 and SEC 2-8 in bowl games so far, so that was another reason towards the end of the game I was rooting for Miami. I know it doesn't matter though. SEC could be 2-50 and ACC 50-4 and they would still claim they're the best and ACC is not worthy.

My dislike of Miami has definitely diminished since the BE days. Probably because we dont play them as much anymore and they have been fairly mediocre since they joined the ACC. I don't like them but I don't hate them either.

I find myself really disliking Ohio St and especially Michigan lately. Arrogant fan bases. One of my wife's best friends is from Michigan and her husband is a super obnoxious Michigan fan. Every time we talk football and I mention SU, he gives a snide comment and starts talking about Michigan. Can't stand them now.
Ohio State fans, Michigan fans, Notre Dame fans - on my list. And then every SEC fan base. I'm full of very strong feelings.

And I rooted hard for Miami last night.

About a year after I graduated from SU, I interviewed locally for a well-known national company (at the time). The suit flew in and interviewed me at a local hotel.

We shook hands, he looked at my resume, and said, "You went to Syracuse University?" I said yup. Then he replied that he went to Michigan, and Michigan is a better school. Dead serious, no attempt at humor. What an arrogant jerk.

I dismissed that potential employment as soon as I left the interview. I should have told him to stick it before I left.

Yeah. I pretty much hate all teams (aside from the Cuse) so it's a matter of which team i despise the most I root for.
