Live from Rochacha

Here is my stream of consciousness report. Was a last minute game time decision to go. Decent crowd. My one yr old hates otto. Good white hot with excellent hot sauce. practice reports last year about the backup qbs weren't kidding. Not good. Ptg fumbles too much. Defense looked ok. Good to hear sales name called in red zone drill td as we were leaving. Broyld had no wardrobe malfunctions. He took one snap at qb that I saw which was a bad snap too high to do anything.

this is real illuminating, I know

From what Garcia is tweeting I find it extremely hard to believe Kinder or Loeb see the field. They've thrown three picks between them, and have been making terrible reads.
Yeah. It was alarming. seeing them makes me even more optimistic that marrones real vision for the offense is simply on hold and they are just making chicken salad. Oddly enough, poor play from backups makes me feel better.

Because you know he's playing the best players we've got vs playing favorites and being stubborn?

Sometimes people just make mistakes and play the wrong guy. doesn't have to be stubbornness or playing favorites.

Hope you're right.

Good call. Not directed at you as much as those who claims "favorites" as the reason we play the guys that we do.

Im in that section now. What u wearing?

Sorry I missed you. After I saw I couldn't read a thing on my phone I never checked the board. I was with 4-5 other posters at the 30 or so. Had the bright orange sweatshirt on. Were you there with the Rochester East team?

Yeah I was with the team. I went over to section 127 for awhile. No problem , I figured I would start introducing myself to some of you. I don't get on the board much so I don't really know you guys

2013 can't get here soon enough.

If the backups behind Nassib are so bad, then how will 2013 be better?

My biggest concern with this staff is their apparent lack of eye for Quarterback talent.

Loeb
Miller
Kinder
Hunt (?)
Broyld

Weak.

I can throw a football 64 yards, I should try out

the backups that got snaps were kinder and loeb. i was only talking about them. neither of those guys will start in 2013.

hunt or broyld are the future and only broyld was there and he didn't get much of a chance at that practice. but i'm not reading too much into that.

What I am more concerned about is that fact that the staff has not done a very good job of developing these guys. That is the most worrisome part of it.

another concern that might be moot if he can recruit. who cares if he's not good at developing C level recruits if he recruits A's. i suspect he doesn't have much to work with yet. if broyld or hunt don't develop, then I'll be all ears for that criticism.

I just think most of our recruits at QB need 2 years in the program before we can consider them every down qb's. Next year, I think Hunt and Broyld will be viable options, they just need another year and one of them will emerge as the next starter- They kind of have too. They will be fine, will they be great, who knows but both are certainly athletic enough to play the spot, we just need to be patient. I gave up with freshman being ready years ago

Gotcha. You don't think Kinder could still develop into a quality starter? I know he doesn't have the greatest arm but he's still just a sophomore and hasn't been given an opportunity in a real game setting.

I am pretty encouraged to hear the read-option was used a bit with Kinder and Broyld. Maybe Marrone and Hackett really aren't married to the 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust offense.

Yeah, that concern is warranted imo. All the QB's have been stagnant over the last 3.5 years.

At the same time, how much potential did any of these players really have coming in?

Nassib - A lightly-recruited 2-star
Loeb - Syracuse was his only Quarterback scholly offer
Kinder - A lightly-recruited 2-star

It's not like Syracuse was battling powerhouse programs for these kids. Maybe the staff is getting the most out of them, they're just limited. Or maybe coaching is the problem. Who knows.

i wasn't watching like a hawk or anything, game was just an excuse to get out of the house, and it's just one practice but no way.

1 is a ex Olineman, the other is a Hackett.

do the math again if you think they arent married to the 3yds and a cloud of dust offense.

Oh Lord

How Broyld and Hunt develop will tell us whether there has been a talent or development issue. I think Hunt and Broyld type talent is about as high as we can bring in unless we become a perennial conference title contender in the ACC.

My hopes are pinned on Hunt. I don't see Loeb nor Kinder ever being the guy and I will reserve judgement on Broyld for now but I'm not sure about him being an every down QB either. Time will tell. He'll either become Michael Vick or play another position.

Were any of you guys the ones who had the RV and the large flags in the parking lots? I parked right next to you.
