Don't they need 12 to be able to have a Championship game?
IMHO, it'll be Cincy and LVille.

Why would the ACC take Rutgers?
to help speed up the demise of the bmw and show/keep a spot for ND and get NYC territory (i didnt say market you freaks), and if need be still have a spot for storz for a nice north/south split.
pretty simple stuff.
Oh Lord
I think you missed the word "not" in my post?I haven't. Based on what info? I was under the impression that we would be BE at least until the new teams arrive which would be 2013.
My guess is that the ACC schedule is being drawn up as we speak to include SU and Pitt. Do you really think the Big Least is going to launch 3 super expensive lawsuits at the same time?Greg Swaim, a pretty solid guy, just tweeted;

I'm told this morning by a conference source the 2012#Big12 football schedule will be released within the month, and#WVU will be on it.

He also told me that the#Big12 taking#WVU and#TCU from the#BigEast "is just the beginning."#CardNation#Bearcats#Rutgers#USF#UConn
For those that don't read twitter, that does not mean the B12 will take all those BE teams but any more additions will likely come from that pool.

The ACC already has 12 teams. I don't think that there's the sense of urgency that the Big 12 has in regard to having SU/Pitt included for next season. The ACC doesn't need to be seen as leaving the BE with too few teams on short notice to have a season. I Just don't see it. Hell, Pitt and SU should welcome the chance to have one more shot at a BCS bid in a WVU-less Big East in 2012.My guess is that the ACC schedule is being drawn up as we speak to include SU and Pitt. "I think everyone has pretty much accepted that SU/Pitt will not be playing in the ACC next season."
I don't...I think Cuse and Pitt need to play 2012-13 in the Big East. You have to allow the BE to get the newbies in for July 2013. This is about playing fair.No idea but I hope you are right.

No way...no need to burn bridges. We might need to schedule a series with some of the leftovers in the future. If WVU leaves, to hell with the Big East, abandon ship.
and theyve been doing so since the early 80s when gtown, seton hall and st johns voted to tell penn state to hit the bricks.Pfft. It is every man for himself. The BE didn't give 2 sheets about fair the past few years. They still don't by letting basketball schools determine the fate of others.
SU doesnt 'NEED' to do anything. No way...no need to burn bridges. We might need to schedule a series with some of the leftovers in the future.
Would you like this if SU was a leftover in the BE and 3 schools bolting like the Colts outta Baltimore?

Gives a nice little regional 3some for WVU.

hey, if you can guarantee me your last paragraph, im ok with the ACC status quo.Not worth it. The BMW is no threat to the ACC, or even the SUNYAC. Or for that matter, even the Suburban Council. Rutgers is less appealing to any major conference than Sage or Skidmore. ND only has a few limited options and with their national brand stagnating if not diminishing, the larger Eastern metro markets make more sense for them than large land grants in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
Leave Rutgers- and UConn- out in the cold. And tell them to enjoy their rightful places in whatever conference Stony Brook, UNH, Binghamton, etc. are in.
You guys are all puffing up your chests...but reality is one more year in the BMW-FW to maintain a level of class for SU among peer institutions isn't too much too ask. Starting in July 2013 I fully expect Cuse to be ACC bound.
Like it or not UConn and Ruttie are peer institutions to the school's leadership.

We're not puffing our chests. We're trying to open our wallet faster and have them put money in it right away.
If you're getting an extra $8M (not sure the #) per year, would you rather start getting it right away or wait another year so your peers don't disrespect you. Your peers who would stab you in the back at a moment's notice I might add.
