One of the reason his percentage is low is all the picks he throws. BTW the yards per attempt is about the same between the two.AJ throws a much more consistent deep ball...throws to windows better, and one of the reason his % is lower is that he throws down field more. I'm pretty sure the yards per attempt is much higher for AJ and it would be interesting to see the numbers. It would also be intersting to see the % on passes attempted more than 10 yards deep. I believe AJ to be far superior in this regard.
I don't know what people are seeing in AJ. He hasn't been very accurate (55.8%) has a 4-7 TD:Int ratio, 14 total yards rushing. He is small has only average speed and arm strength. What is the big deal? I guess we are just desperate.
Well that is something. I guess we were the only P5 offer he got an offer from Colorado State. That's something. I guess that means we don't like our chances with Virgil. Bird in hand.not recruiting board but dungey just commited to us
What about him?Alin Eduoard !
He is our guy. What about him?
I thought you had some news on him showing up.He is our guy.
LOL No I thought he had some news about Alin.Dungey?
On his way.
oh Boy. Hope it turns outI thought you had some news on him showing up.
I just see it different I guess. There's a difference between a pitcher that gets pitches called balls because they throw it in the dirt, and a pitcher that gets pitches called balls because they didn't quite paint the corner. That's how I see Long vs Hunt.I understand what you are saying, but an incomplete pass is an incomplete pass. And yes, AJ is better at screens and slants, but that is about it. Hunt's arm is stronger than AJ's.
In the final analysis there is not much difference in their passing and there is no question Hunt is a far superior runner especially in the red zone. Hunt scored 7 rushing TDs last year.
AJ is simply not ready to play at this level - at least not yet. Next year is a new year. Maybe they will both get better.
I agree that Long has a far better upside than Hunt, but that takes a bit of a leap of faith. I doubt he will be ready next year, but stranger things have happened. The kid has an average arm and speed, but he has something they don't coach - he is winner. Let's hope.I just see it different I guess. I get people that say Hunt's our best option now. I just think the ceiling is really low for a Hunt led offense. I think if Long clicks we've got a much better offense. Plus, I think first team reps matter. If the staff names him the starter in the spring and invests in him I think the return is there. They did that once with Hunt already. Not so great a return.

I knew what you meant, but the only proxy for that and it is not a good one is ypa.Perhaps I should have phrased it differently. Not completed yards per pass attempted but rather yards as a function of where the receivers were when the ball was thrown to them. I know there is no such stat. I'm saying that AJ attempts more passes downfield. Hunt had a ton of bubble screens.
