Looking Ahead to Houston

And if I remember correctly we went down 12-0 early in that 2019 Duke game and it felt like we were about to lose by 40. And Marek almost died taking a charge from Zion.
To be fair to duke (vomit), they were down one starter and another went out with an injury in the first 10 and never came back. That was the year they had 3 superstar freshmen, and Zion was the only one to play against us.

It is out of line for you to insult members of the board. Disagree, sure. But name calling is cheap and offensive.
It's a good message that should apply to both sides of the fence, not just IHeartSU. (and I'm not referring to you, specifically, but there's a lot of turning a blind eye to misbehavior when it's convenient around here)

100%

Moreover, it speaks volumes for those that behave in this manner, make things personal, etc. vs. simply debating the subject matter.
It pretty much sums up the state of the country, not just this board. Very few people have the restraint to debate and disagree in a civil, respectful manner anymore. There's no effort to consider that maybe the other side also has valid points. What a world.

On the very first page of the thread, IHeart mockingly called another poster Orangezoof and referred to another poster as an ESL learner. So it was going back and forth both ways, as much as I know you enjoy getting on your high horse.

It seemed like the good years (under JB) that we would usually take care of business against lesser competition to start the year racking up wins and then get one or two really good wins along the way. That usually set us up pretty well for the year and seeding for the ncaa. So far, we're doing the first part. Now, can we get one or two against Houston, Kansas, Tenn? I'd actually be okay with one win against those three but please not 0-3.

So you think insulting him back makes one side any less culpable?

On the very first page of the thread, IHeart mockingly called another poster Orangezoof and referred to another poster as an ESL learner. So it was going back and forth both ways, as much as I know you enjoy getting on your high horse.

I went back and took a peek as my post was based solely off Franco's. And, knowing how over the years of posting here, that there are those particular folks who choose to get personal, throw shade at others, etc. when disagreeing, etc. versus staying on point and discussing the subject matter.

In any event (per online) an ESL learner apparently is an individual(s ) who are not native English speakers but are learning English as a second language, typically in an English-speaking environment. These learners are often taught in specialized programs focused on developing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to help them succeed academically, professionally, and socially.

Perhaps, his response was a form of mockery as you interpreted to be, or, perhaps, he responding himself to a poster's repeated "huh" remarks?

What does calling a poster Orangezoo, Orangezoof mean? Perhaps a typo? A quick search online mentions this on 'zoof;' "zoof" doesn't have a single standard definition, but it is most commonly found as a Yiddish (Hebrew) word related to "gold" or can refer to a crypto wallet called "Zoof". Other less common meanings include a proposed slang term for a strong, lovable man...

Again, perhaps simply your interpretation of a form of mockery?

Which leads me to you last comment. Honestly, I found this to be, I'll say, surprising. You've been here (and other prior incarnations of this board) a long time...as I. I've probably "liked" far more of your posts over the years than you mine. That said, I don't recall us ever getting into it in any 'personal' kind of way, etc. even in disagreement, but simply agreeing to disagree. So, the "high horse" remark is surprising, but I appreciate your complete honesty on how you apparently particularly feel.

In closing, for what it's worth, what I enjoy here is having good, spirited honest debate on the subject matter, etc. If there's disagreement, great, we can simply agree to disagree vs. being disagreeable and making things personal. If you choose to think me having no issue in calling those folks out in those moments me being on a "high horse," so be it. That's your opinion/your own thinking...I'll choose to respect it...even in disagreement. Peace.

Come on. Let's not be dense. It's a troll doing troll things

Appreciate your response. We often agree on many things, and I often appreciate your willingness to go against the grain. But you trying to come up with possible defenses of IHeart based on his entire contribution to this thread made me roll my eyes. But we'll agree to disagree and get back to the subject at hand.

My "huh?" replies were in response to the factually inaccurate statement. Perhaps I could have just called out the inaccuracy. And, if this were a formal debate, I certainly would have. But, I treat this forum as a less formal, conversational platform and that is why I replied as I did.

My 'defenses,' come from more of a broader perspective here over the years, versus specifically this thread/IHeart's specific posts per se. As I mentioned in my initial response to yours, I hadn't read those specific posts initially, and was responding (in general) to Franco's. Who, we all know, has been subject to personal type shade thrown his way over the years. However, fair enough.

Is the premise of Franco's post inaccurate from the broader perspective in which he's suggesting? Whether the "doofus" came in "guns blazing" or not, isn't this whataboutism sentiment a significant contributing factor to the culture Franco is also referencing? What ever happened to the 'ol adage; "two wrongs don't make it right."

Come on. Let's not be dense. It's a troll doing troll things

I prefer obtuse over dense. 😜

Are you going to honestly claim I was engaging in personal attacks on a poster who was intentionally trolling and trying to start dumb arguments? This poster claimed they were smarter and would kick someone’s ass. Nothing I posted was a personal attack but merely taking part in the trolling nature. Find a post where I responded in a fashion that wasn’t fair game. Trolling presents someone as a character and the response was to the character this person was portraying.

Your monologue is absurd considering what all of this was. Good god.

Just to note this is purely in reference to what you are posting in this thread and in no way personal. Just to make it clear it’s about what you are saying in just this instance.

There’s no Kansas thread but Peterson is missing all 3 games for them which makes that matchup nice now
It does make it nice. But at the same time, I was looking forward to playing them at full strength to gauge where we really are. I know we'll have the chance against Houston but wanted to vs KU also. It still won't be easy though.
