Looking forward to Matthew Stafford's wife

I know the difference. Watch the play again. I saw something different.

Detroit... 3 turnovers... 9 penalties... Not going for it on 4th and 1... Stanford 0-16 on the road against teams with a winning record... Not stopping Dallas on 2 forth down plays...

The better team won.

I love that saying, "the better team won". As if that is supposed to justify the means to the end.

And yes, I am in complete agreement about Detroit having chances. They definitely didn't help themselves, no doubt. But they certainly were affected by the change in the call / no call in this game, just like SU simultaneously hurt themselves while also being ownded by the officiating against Villanova.

Aren't mutually exclusive.

If the flag was never thrown, nobody would be talking about that play. In fact almost all of the tweets I saw before they picked up the flag were something like "LET THEM PLAY!!!".

Picking up the flag was ridiculous, but the play was borderline PI at best. I would rather see it not called than called. But like I said, once its called (by the head ref, not just flag thrown) you gotta let it stand.
Did you watch the play? The detroit player has his shirt held. That play has been a penalty all year. And let's not even get in to Dez running on the field with his helmut off. !st down at the Dallas 16 after the PI and the unsportsmenlike.

I read today that the ref who picked up the flag was the same ref who called PI on Will Allen in SU's heartbreaking loss to Tennessee at the Dome.

now that wouldve ruled.

pick up the flag based on 'just letting them play'...then slam 15yds on Dez.

i wouldve paid to see that.

The guy paid to babysit Dez must have been getting a soda on that play.

It was not egregious. If you say so, I assume you are just a Dallas hater. And complaining about Dez is just dumb. It had no effect on the game. Thats like getting pissed off when someone else dunks and hangs on to the rim for a second too long and complaining about the no call technical costing you game. Its childish.

Sidenote: Im a falcons fan and former huge bills fan (long story) but I still support them and watch them and root for them. Im a Cowboys hater too.

Good God. Dez going on the field after a ref is book rule an unsportsmenlike penalty. End of story. It isn't close to the same thing as dunking. If that is allowed there would be a fiasco on every call. Second, the NFL admits it was the wrong call at least on the d holding. The refs 'ed up that call. It was shameful. If you don't see that, you must be one big Dallas lover

haha ok.

this couldnt be more wrong. Detroit was far and away the best team yesterday. This isnt even a debate honestly.
First off I didn't say the "best team yesterday". But while we're at it Detroit was better in the first half. Dallas in the second. Detroit was held to 6 points after the first quarter while Dallas scored 24. So I will say Dallas not only is a better team overall, they were the best team on Sunday as well. Better teams overcome adversity. Now if you said "Detroit was far and away the best team in the first quarter", I would agree with you.

overcome adversity? Dallas not only didn't have to do that, they recieved a major break. If the calls were correctly made, Dallas would have had about a 10% chance to win.

c'mon man. It wasnt the worst call of all time. it just wasnt that bad.

You seem to forget the laughable Witten hold earlier in the game on a TD (the cowboys still scored... but the Lions still had an opportunity to get the 1st down and didnt).

The only thing that was bad was that they called it and picked it up.

Even the head ref said it wasn't a horrible call. He thought it should have been made, but it wasnt horrible.

The Nova game was horribly reffed. The Dallas-Detroit game had a few iffy calls. Night and day difference. Nothing to see here.

BTW - the head ref also said it is up to refs discretion to call penalty on Dez and IF he was discussing "in an unsportsmanlike way"

and also from the ref of the game Pete Morelli:

Morelli: "Face-guarding is not a foul. It is a penalty in college but not in professional football."

if he was discussing in a unsportsmenlike way? He shouldn't be on the field. He doesn't play defense. You can't do that The call of the game was not a iffy call. That was illegal contact followed by defensive holding followed by pass interference. And then unsportsmenlike conduct. A coach can't run on the field like that. Never mind a player.
