Losing record, 15 games in

Yes, that’s true. What if we played pressure d like they did on us when they needed the ball as their only shot to win, and we fouled them on the inbounds?
Who cares. They executed the in bounds we didn’t. Game over. All we had to do is get it in. We didn’t.

We are winning the ACCT. it’s settled damnit.
Believe it or not, with the ACC so weak, it could happen but we need the double bye. I can't see winning 4 or 5 days in a row playing 6.5 guys

Haha who cares? The situations weren’t the same. Sorry you don’t understand it.

But yes.. we couldn’t inbound the ball. Awful execution, with a bad call to top it off.

We might be the worst team in the ACC this year.
We'll learn more on this Tuesday night. We won't have to wait long to find something out.

We aren’t making the tourney .. that being the case, we are better off losing and putting up a terrible record or else no changes will be forthcoming. One year minor sacrifice for a huge reward down the road

You don’t seem to understand we didn’t get the ball in and they did. Fact. And they scored as well LOL.

A screen, something. JB said they ran the same exact play the second time around. At least switch it up.
Remember when JAB said we don't have that many plays because our kids can't remember very many? Oh, man. Cold is known to constrict. I didn't know it worked on memories, though.

I’ve been an NBA Buddy guy for two years now, I think he’s played himself out of that conversation now. If JB is back, then I think he comes back. I’m not totally against it, we will need him.
I'm not sure how i feel about this.

On one hand, sure—always great to have a great shooter.
On the other hand, JAB back means Buddy will still dominate the team, trying again to create an NBA/pro resumé rather than recede into a 'component role.'

I'm really just ready for a restart. Reset the PRAM. Flush the cache. Delete the cookies.

Tank and get that draft pick! Trust the process!

What would it take? 6-12 or worse? Maybe 7-11 with lots of roster upheaval? And for those who think we can survive this year and reload through the portal next, who would come here and save us? If you can't recruit them as high schoolers, it's not any easier to do it as college students. The best transfers are going elsewhere.

All we had to do is get it in.

Bite the bullet to rip the band aid off

This was an extremely poorly constructed team. Where did he think the defense was going to come from? Going to 1-3-1 was laughable before trying man to man, especially since this day and age the game is based around the 3 pointer. Teams can handle the team much better. Unless JB felt we could win shoot out after shoot out I haven’t a clue what his thoughts were and what how he thought this would turn out

One of Jims worst coaching moments was calling that scheme.

He had GREAT inbounds plays. Not that long ago we'd free a guy up on a wheel to go deep and finish it.

Now...

We used to have a great one we ran with Jonny Flynn. He would end up with the ball right under the basket for an easy layup. It was a neat play. I remember it twice.

l think we started drinking our own Kool-Aid in thinking that the system and rotations make the zone not the athletes playing it. Drinking helps watching games this year....not that l didn't drink previous years.

We are ranked 190th in defensive efficiency per KenPom, and it feels like it.

The whole roster construction of this year's team is bizarre. Why the decision to go with only 3 guards and 3 forwards? Why only bring in a non-scoring PG with no offensive skills ... like playing with 2 and a 1/2 guards? JB obviously expected the starters to all play 35 minutes a game and never miss time due to injury or Covid. I can only guess they expected Swider to be a lot better than he is and that Benny would contribute a lot more than he has. In other words, more talent evaluation errors of which there have been too many of in the last several years.

And yet WF had no trouble in bounding the ball with ten seconds for a final shot to tie the game and send it to OT drawn up by a coach wearing a vest.
Ok so it wasn’t just me. I was trying to figure out exactly what he was wearing. It was weird

People are crazy. Inbounding the ball hasn’t been a problem for 40 years. People only remember the bad stuff, which will occasionally happen.
You're right. It's really only been the last 5-6 years. We never used to have much difficulty in bounding the ball. We've also never looked so unpracticed at it as we have the last couple of seasons.
It really does not take much practice either- 5 minutes per practice until they have it doen. It's such a critical part of the game.
It boggles the mind that we can't get the ball to one open guy. Even when we successfully inbound the ball, it often is under extreme duress and/or to a guy in a really bad spot. For example, even if Jimmy gets the ball to Buddy, it is in the very corner with 2 guys defending him and no room to pivot. That's the very last place you want the ball to go. Literally, any other place on the court is better.
