Louisville hiring Jeff Brohm

In this day and age I wouldn't throw any scenarios out and stranger things have happened.

As we thought Brohm bolted to head home and no doubt Purdue had to have a strong inclination this was coming and has some guys lined up ton interview.

At this point it's getting late in the recruiting game so whatever they do will need to happen fast.

Maybe it's because I root for Syracuse football but two division titles, one conference title, and four bowls in seven years seems like a good resume.

They have never been the IT program in the MAC West under him. Even with Northern Illinois down they haven't taken over. He has no signature Ws. They have never been ranked.

They haven't had a losing season since 2009. Since 1993 they have had one season worse than 5-7, and only 5 losing seasons total since 1987. It is a good program. He has done a good job keeping the program decent, but he hasn't been as good as Pinkel or Campbell.

In four seasons Campbell had Toledo ranked for a grand total of six weeks, beat 1 (one) ranked team and won a total of zero conference titles.

I mean, meh?

Campbell had 3 BCS Ws (2 of them were vs ranked teams at the time), he was ranked 6x and in 2 different seasons, he was 2-1 in Bowl games.

W% .700 vs .624
MAC W% .750 vs .648

That seems a lot better to me. On top of that Campbell was thought of as a good O mind.

If they Hire Dino so be it,i for one would not be devastated. When Doug Marrone left I was pissed, if Dino leaves, I wanted him fired the past two seasons anyway. I’ll never not root for him as long as he is at Syracuse but fake tears if he gets poached.

Good hire from Louisville, not sure what changed between now and few years back when they first tried to get him, but I think they made the right decision

They are the FSU/Clemson of the MAC. Always out recruiting everyone. Candle has underperformed his recruiting advantage

Why are you talking like it could be a real thing.

I would be shocked if it is a real thing, but a quick google of Dino Babers and Purdue and multiple sources have him as a candidate. So it’s not completely outrageous, it’s not like they put Nick Saban on there.

You’ve underperformed your recruiting advantage

I just did that quick google. Every single hit came back with the same article. That one guy suggesting a bunch of names in his opinion Purdue should consider. And I think most of those tweets are the writer trying to pump his article because none of them have more than a couple followers.

They are not actually sources, they are just writers making up lists for clickbait.

Bruce Feldman couldn’t come up with better click bait then Dino Babers?

Again not saying this is going to happen, just not ridiculous to discuss.

If I were a HC I would look at what is coming in the future talent wise and what I have. Then...my current contract situation and chance for an extension. Then...if I don't think there's enough talent or possibility of an extension/not enough security or cash and then put out feelers for the best offer I could find.

Obviously comfort where I am along with cost of living/area are to be included in this decision plus relationship/support with current AD/boosters/fanbase.

As for Dino...he has a lot of positives above at SU with the possible minus of the unknown of the extension (that we know of).

the only ridiculous thing about it is the fact that a Big 10 school would consider a restart with coach DB and his two winning seasons.
Exactly, that’s why it’s a fantasy.

Yeah because he is aiming for that huge Syracuse population to click on his article .
There were other names in the article besides Dino and it’s not just Syracuse, but ACC fans who would have an interest and football fans in general. ;)
