Unfortunate, LSU really needed the new QB Harris to get some reps and confidence against an over matched opponent.

Now he'll start on the road against Mississippi State, with the cowbells ringing, and no real game experience this year. Last year his only start was on the road at Auburn and it was a bit much for him. He's probably much better prepared this year but still getting some time in yesterday would have been nice.

Nice win for you guys. Hopefully we both win out until the Tigers visit the Carrier Dome in 3 weeks.

I hope the fans get their money back. It was an unusual event considering the weather football has been played in over the years.

Norm Snead sure had good blocking:

BYU - Michigan lost some appeal with Michigan's week 1 loss, and BYU losing their QB for the year (and losing their game).

SEC is tricky, 3 big matchups. One will lock up 3:30 CBS, one will lock up 7:45 ESPN, where does the 3rd one land?

BYU WON THERE GAME ON THE HAIL MARY.

espn 2 or sec network at 7 or 730 for 3rd sec game most likely

I just caught that, wow. My only conflict away from following and watching the games yesterday was about 6:30 to 8, never caught back up on all the 3:30 finishes.

BYU a Hail Mary away from being 0-1

Didn't see these posted ^

From what I understand there's now an NCAA (or is it SEC) rule that if there is lightning within 8 miles, you must stop the game and you can't restart until there has been no lightning for 30 minutes. 5 minutes into the game was the first lightning strike and it didn't stop for the rest of the night. LSU kept the game as "delayed" for 4 hours in the hopes it would stop, but after 4 hours finally pulled the plug at 10:30 PM local time.

Edit: No, nobody gets their money back either
2nd Edit: LSU announced a ticket refund/exchange option for the game. Don't know the details.

It's an NCAA rule. They said McNeese had no hotel room because they drove to Baton Rouge and were going to drive the couple of hours back after the game. Otherwise they would have played today

I'm actually very happy (selfishly for us) LSU didn't get to have their tune up game. I've said it before the schedule is in our favor to have a chance at the upset. Now they get to go play @MSU and then have to play Auburn before our game. Those are two tough opponents that LSU is going to have to give everything they got, and these guys will be coming to the Dome for a soldout game vs a 3-0, and confident Cuse team. Dungey should also be more comfortable by that point getting a couple weeks of all the first team reps and some game action against some weaker teams. Should be a good game, we may struggle stopping their running game just because they have a stable of big, fast ridiculous running backs, but our defense will get in their QB's head. We gave Geno Smith nightmares, and they don't have anyone close to as good as Geno Smith. I've been saying it all along, our schedule sets up nicely for a 5-1 start. If we can upset LSU, we could be at 6 wins before we even hit the back end of the schedule.

I should add that our linebackers are gonna have to be active in the backfield for this game, because I think our D-line will struggle to get pressure against a very talented LSU oline. The good thing is that we have a deep group of athletic Linebackers to work with.

we usually do ok stopping the run

We have done a great job against the run in recent years, but this LSU run game is on a level we have never played against. They have a bunch of 230-240 lb 4.4 backs, and huge talented lineman.

andre williams from bc was around that size a couple years back and we did fine

Williams was good, but he ran a 4.6. All of LSU's backs run are legit 4.4-4.5 guys. They will also have a muc better oline. Plus I believe Williams got banged up early in the game if I remember correctly.

Fornette is an absolute beast, and they have freakish athletes, esp on their d-line.

He got banged up because we took it to him.

Then there was Connor of Pitt last year. He's a 'beast', too.

Yep. And the ESPN writers said it there too: had x not left the game with injury, he might have put up big numbers. Silliness.
