LSU opens -3.5 / 72

I agree there were 3 solid and teams and a range of options for the 4th, but Ok winning an Avg Conf title full of avg teams shouldnt get rewarded just because they won it.. had they played well in winning it then fine but you would hard pressed to say they did much more than find a way to win a bunch of ugly games.

there is a decent chance the B12 goes 0-6 in bowls
the ACC was an avg conf too but Clemson dominated

Come on every other team in the top 10 gets in before OU if they don’t blow it. There wasn’t another 1 loss team everyone had 2.

1 loss PAC 12 winner gets in before them.

They took care of business and made it for the 3rd year in a row. There were 3 good teams this year we should be thankful it’s not the old system and Clemson isn’t shut out of the BCS title game.

That Trevor Lawrence quote that came out today...

Everything I want out of a QB (absurd talent level aside)

I'll see that 15, and raise it to 17. Maybe even 20.
As you know, I originally said 20 but i have to consider the culture of winning. That team hasn't lost in 2 years. Clemson staff has beaten teams with better talent before. I think Venables is the best D Coor in college. He will do some things to slow them down. Dont forget he made the best red zone offense in Ohio St kick FG's. With that said, LSU will win by 2 TD's.

I think LSU has the better team and will have huge crowd support, but Clemson has experience and I think a significant advantage on the sideline.

Dabo and Venables will find a way to keep it close. I’d let the line balloon and take the points.

The English are the public betting up LSU. The Scots are us waiting for the line to swell and jump on Clemson.

I will take Clemson all day long in this game, let's see how the LSU coaching staff that has been in place only a few years does when they face a team as or more talented than they are that has been there before.

And a coaching staff that has done this a few times against Bama teams that beat up the whole SEC.

I hope LSU wins. College football needs more variation in its champions.
I would agree, if it was a school from a conference that hasn't won recently. I can't root for any SEC teams ro win. They're, collectively, the most arrogant fans in college sports. When any conference school wins, they see it as a victory for whole conference. To me, it would feel no different than Alabama winning.

Read this on twitter and completely agree
SEC Logic: If an SEC team wins a bowl game it's because they're by far the best conference and thus better team. If an SEC team loses a bowl game it's because they "didn't care" about a bowl game that wasn't College Football Playoff.

LSU-Clemson will be the fifth straight national championship game and seventh in the last nine seasons to pit two teams from the South.

A regional diverse champion would be great in the next few years. Unless it is State Penn!

LSU won the national championship in 2007. There have been 12 winners since. 6 different teams.

College Football could use a LOT more variation haha

Georgia got ripped by LSU in SEC Title. Utah QB was exposed as having High School passing abilities when Utah finally played a ranked team. OK was not really fourth best but they deserved the spot. Only team that could of competed w LSU is Bama who lost twice and beat zero ranked teams. Frankly if they made it they may as well stop the season after 4 games since Vegas will have enough intel on who the four best are.

Agreed. The Pac 12 and Big 12 have been second class football conferances for a while. While Bama didn't deserve to be there due to their 2 losses, I do feel like they were the 4th best team in the county.

Clemson by double digits.

LSU’s an all time great team, But I think Dabo pulls some magic.

if this happens, I will record the tears of Finebaum

For whatever it's worth, since 2000, number of different champions:

MLB: 13
NFL/NHL: 12
NCAAF/NCAAB: 11
NBA: 8

Considering CFB has 150ish teams and CBB has 350ish, that is very little variation.

I suppose the pro games are also designed to try to help the worst teams.

Really like Clemson in this game. Mainly because I loathe the SEC, but I also have great respect for Dabo and the program/culture he has built.

Bring it home for the ACC... again.

Get your money on LSU quick

I don't know. Clemson has been there so many times recently.
I think they know how to win this game.
Yes, they have a young defensive line, but practically everybody on their team has done it twice.
Just think about that.
I wouldn't write off Clemson.

Yup. With all the gushing over Joe Burrow and Joe Brady and Eddie O...I'd be careful here.

Clemson probably should have lost against OSU and found a way to come back.

I think they're very dangerous here.

I went and grabbed myself a Clemson +195 ticket this afternoon.

They would have been somewhere around -105 to -125 three weeks ago and havent lost in 29 straight games...I'll take 2:1 odds with any team with that going for them regardless of the name on the jersey.
