LSU Swamp Thread

Seriously stop it ... I said he is responsible. This type of bullsh1t of denial of responsibility is so old. I pray to God you aren't a parent or a steward of young people. He put that kid in a lift in a dangerous situation, he is RESPONSIBLE. A person can speed down the highway (see Henry Ruggs) creating a dangerous situation killing someone but he isn't a murderer. Twist the words however you wish ..
I stand by what I said. We talk in absolutes. If he was responsible for manslaughter the district attorney would have pursued. It’s a juicy case someone can make their career on.

They didn’t.

I don’t even like Brian Kelly as a coach but we need to tap the brakes on calling someone a murderer. It’s really insane.

For the second time I said he is responsible I did not say murder ... do I need to share a dictionary definition with you? You can go stand by what you said in the corner ... cause you're in the minority on this one.

I don’t assume that a DA is going to pursue charges against a sports MVP if there is any window of uncertainty.

ND had to pay fines to the State as well iirc

He somehow escaped any wrongdoing as he wasn't told it was unsafe, but he's responsible for his program top to bottom. Also. Common. Freaking. Sense.

It doesn't make sense.

Still don't know how people trusted their child with him. Glad he's away from the sport.

Mcf-it on the move

I’ve mentioned on here that I moonlight as an lsu fan since marrying that direction. It’s been a heckuva hedge for the past 23 years! Obviously the Kiffin stuff has been a hoot to follow. I shuddered with some ptsd when they announced that wr coach George McDonald would be joining Kiffin in Baton Rouge. He’s had constant work so assume he brings value in lower roles than he had at SU, but I was happy to live in a different universe from him for the past decade. I’ll report back anything notable 😀.

Especially the football coach at Notre Dame.

I’ve seen DAs who don’t care about sports go after sports folks if there is a case. Nd is private it’s not a mouth breathing state school that controls all.

Again Brian Kelly - dbag

Just making the point if he came here we’d find a way to re narrate this accident. And it’s an accident.

They blatantly ignored OSHA regulations to record a practice resulting in a kids death. Seriously just stop. SU has buried their fair share of incidents as I bet ND has ... football is a big business. As for mouth breathing state schools maybe you should check the rankings again, several are quite highly ranked. You're moronic Boston superiority complex is shining through I see.

This is an extremely weird hill you're choosing to die on.

But go for it!

No Way Funny Meme GIF

So LSU just ate a huge buyout, with the governor complaining about it, and now their do a similar contract except it is 50% more expensive, and, apparently, the governor is fine with this.

Trying to make sense of LSU football, the fans, their alumni, board of directors at the school, governor isn't even worth it. Just a rabid group of fans throughout the whole state and into Texas ( Houston area). It's just insanity and not saying anyone has to agree with it, rationally it makes zero sense but it means everything to so many people down there right or wrong. The Saints as well and they just stink with not much hope right now

And remember the previous AD was given $6 mil to go away so he couldn’t do another one of his bad contracts.
He was also a rather staunch democrat not well liked by the republican governor, that could have something to do with it. Landry had had it with him and his appointed board of directors did the dirty work. Like I said, it's just insane stuff. Nobody ever cared about the $, most of it was politically driven as well as ego

Kiffin stabbed Ole Miss in the back. The Rebels go 11–1, staring at their first ever playoff berth, and instead of finishing the job he bolts for LSU and a fat paycheck. That’s not ambition that’s cowardice. And the worst part, He tried to spin it like he was the victim, claiming Ole Miss wouldn’t let him coach through the playoff as if his hands were tied. Please. If he truly wanted to stand by his players he would’ve found a way. Instead, he’s cashing LSU’s checks while Ole Miss recruits decommit and the locker room feels betrayed. He abandoned a playoff‑bound team for a 7–5 mess in Baton Rouge, leaving Oxford gutted right before the biggest moment in program history. Legacy? Torched. Lane will forever be remembered as the guy who quit when it mattered most, then tried to play the martyr on his way out the door.
Ole Miss wouldn’t let him finish, it’s that simple. No idea how that translates to cowardice.

Where Ole Miss Coaches Are Expected to Land With Lane Kiffin Departing for LSU

"George McDonald, wide receivers coach: McDonald is expected to move on to LSU. The 49-year-old was in his second season at Ole Miss after spending the previous three as the assistant head coach and receivers coach at Illinois. He was both the receivers coach and the passing game coordinator for the Rebels."
