LSU vs Florida cancelled

Not that I expect our game to be cancelled, but is anyone else worried about how the poor conditions might affect our ability to sling it in this must-win game?

We may not be as affected in our game. Wake is fairly inland and a bit north of the storm path if it takes that sharp loop turn.
It is what it is. Glad the schools, where holding a game could be dangerous, are making the correct move to cancel. Even in SEC country there are some things that actually are more pressing than football!!

Poor Ed Orgeron. I think he wanted this to be his job security game.

I'm sure after the last 6 quarters of Gator football, they happy to do a quick pull of the trigger.

This usually starts a domino effect. I hope that if our game becomes in doubt, they can schedule it for Dec 3. Big 12 plays regular season games that day.

How can you not reschedule a conference game? Also, how is UF going to be compensated for the lost gameday revenue?

Won't SU be playing in the ACC Championship game on Dec 3?

It helps us that our game is in the evening. Right now their calling for rain in the middle of the day and clearing skies by 7. Hopefully Matthew doesn't take an unexpected shift.

Is their field grass or turf?

LSU was ready and willing to host if necessary and it looks like UF dragged their feet. I doubt they wanted it played if it couldn't be in Gainesville since playing in Baton Rouge/ giving up a home game would not help them in the SEC East race

This, if true, is rediculous. This is a big game and Gainesville is well inland. Plenty of options to play this game. @lsu, mobile, one of the miss schools.

He has very little chance of getting the job.

Dave Longley told Steve Infanti that it should have very little impact on the game. May be a bit drizzly, and not enough wind to really matter.

Going to come down to who turns it down.

It depends on what other jobs are available, if Texas is, that's going to be the prime one that everyone wants. I think Hermann would be the first choice of everyone.

Yep, Herman and Jimbo would have to stay where they are, or go elsewhere. If that's the case, and Orgeron's early moves pay off (fired Cameron, and had 635 yards against an SEC opponent without Fournette), then that crazy cajun may just stay put. It was the perfect time for him to play Florida though, so I'm sure he's depressed.

I just don't see Jimbo going anywhere, he has a great job, and is getting paid a lot. I would rather be at Fsu than Lsu.

They could have played it in the Superdome.

i am a bit confused how there can be multiple 7-1 teams in the SEC West? LSU already lost to auburn, Auburn would have to run the table as would LSU and that eliminates everyone else to having 2 losses..

He shouldn't have had the (s) in team(s). Really all he is saying is that if LSU wins the rest of their games, and Bama or aTm wins the rest of their games (except against LSU), then Bama or aTm's 7-1 gets in over LSU's 6-1.

It's never going to happen that way, but would be a fun week to follow the SEC media if it did.

if LSU wins out and beats Ala but doesnt get into the title game there will be riots from LSU fans and all the fans that hate Ala
