Luke Carney

I went to the SU-Tennessee game. Two of my best friends are Tennessee fans. They couldn't stop saying that our QB was good and they were impressed.

So no, not everyone on this board was. And no, he was not 'awful'. It was his first start in a new system against a top 15 team in the country.

You were calling for Collins the moment Angeli was named the starter, and questioning how 'fair' the competition was. Stop the changing narrative.
I also said Angeli won me over in the Clemson game. So who cares.

I still don't think Carney has shown he will be a P4 QB which is what the thread is about.

Limited observations of him in practice has potential. Maybe it clicks for him in the spring

How's his arm? We obviously didn't get to see a lot of it this year, so is he accurate? Does he have the necessary arm strength?

I think most of the board was. Angeli was awful vs Tennessee.

No he wasn't.

It was his first start, against a good team, in what was a de facto road game. There were some speed bumps, which is to be expected for a QB making their first start with a team he'd only been practicing with for a month.

He did some really nice things that game, and had more success than most of the QBs who'd faced Tennessee the previous season. Were there speedbumps? Sure. And some of those things [communication with the offensive coaches via helmet] got worked out after 2 to 3 games.

But he was not awful, by any means.

He looked fine. Actually they all did.
I liked the Kid from NY. Playmaker the practice I watched. Drills. Internal stuff is so difficult to judge vs live action. I want kids that have performed well in games.

Amen and thank you.
