Malik Brown Is Wrong Orange - TN

It's an understandable decision for him. This is one of the recruit that I think is one that will be one we really wished we had landed. But alas, we did not land him and it is time to move on elsewhere. We all knew that it was going to be really difficult to hold onto the recruits Marrone recruited. Hopefully Shafer and McDonald put together a full class next year when they have time to really work some magic.

This last month has been pretty rough recruiting-wise but we have landed some solid prospects, it's just unfortunate we couldn't hold onto some but coaching changes tend to do that. Especially considering we aren't a huge BCS program, kids come here for the connection with the coaches so when one leaves, it is obviously going to hinder the class.

Looking forward to next year.

Guess IS serious...

Malik Brown's point system finished like this: Tennessee 242, Syracuse 202, South Florida 156.
I would love to see the details of how those point totals were arrived at.

Tennessee
big stadium 108k capacity +108 pts
whores hostesses on visit + 69 pts
SEC 'benefits' + 40 pts
dbag fans follow me on twitter + 25 pts

Tennessee wins!!!

First questions on the point system:

How many twitter followers does my son have:
Tennessee - 97,000
Syracuse - 4

Average attendance at home stadiums:
Tennessee - 97,000
Syracuse - 37,000

Number of painted rocks on campus:

Tennessee - 1 big one
Syracuse - 0

Morrison left, that's who Brown connected with. That is a coaching change, whether you like it or not.

And honestly, you won't remember this kid in a month, so does it really matter if he is telling the truth or not?

Complaining about Brown's stated reason(coaching change) not being the real reason and arguining he should have just given the real reason is the same thing as arguing with the girl that just broke up with you and said "it's not you, it's me"--and responding oh come on, it is me isn't it? It's because I'm ugly (facilities) or no one likes me (low fan attendance) or I'm not good enough (not top 25) or my friends aren't cool (ACC v. SEC). Just TELL ME PLEASE!

I'm satisfied with it was the coaching change and happy to move on with dignity. Chances are the next girl (recruit) is watching to see how you take the news.

Malik Brown called #Vols choice a biz decision. His heart wanted #Cuse but Marrone said he wasn't leaving 2 days before he left. That hurt.

We shouldn't be mad about Marrone leaving but we should be mad at the way he lied to some of the recruits that ended up hurting us.

FU DM, I'm was never a Bills fan but now I'm rooting for a 1-15 season... He 'ed us over no 2 ways about it... It's one thing to leave your "dream job" another to us over and take 80% of the staff with you...

He found himself in awe of Neyland Stadium and the Vol Walk, wowed by the fan base that he described as "ridiculous" and superior to that of Syracuse.

contacting recruits on twitter debate to commence 3...2...1...

There are metaphysical aspects there that I hope everyone keeps in mind when complaining about how we can't recruit.

Tennessee has more fans a bigger rabid segment of fanbase than we do...

If fanbase was an important factor to him, ok, checkmark to TN...

Hurts to hear, but not untrue.

I hate recruiting.

Me too. And I hate that I as a 42 year old "adult" get so wrapped up and invested in the thoughts and actions of teenage boys. It's one step removed from my 10 year old daughter and her room full of posters of teenage boys. It's super creepy when you think about it.

But when I see how intense folks at the football factories get, I feel somehow morally superior and less creepy.

Tenne$$ee blew him away on his visit.

Disappointing, but if the shiny toys are what is important to him then he was never going to be happy at SU and belongs at a school like Tennessee.

I hope for two things: (a) he transfers to SU and becomes a star, OR (2) he's a huge bust for Rocky Top.

of course they are. He simply dumped his gf, for a girl he thought "was hotter". He essentially gave us the "its not you its me".

Good luck to the kid. I'm not going to wish any ill will. They are kids. I just wish they would be more honest. Just come out and say, listen, its Rocky Top, its Neyland, its the SEC, its 100k fans on gameday. Be he honest.

It's one thing to say "university of syracuse" when you commit, it's another to still be saying it after you decommit months later.

Looks like you got half your wish.
This was the flip that really bothered me but I am sorry that thing s didn't work out for him at TN.

CL do you think there will be any interest by either SU or Brown in him coming here?

:noidea:

All I know is that I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. His brother plays for Bethune Cookman, maybe he will go that route.
