Yeah and if this team played D like Maliq does it would have made a heckuva difference this season at times.defense is half of the game

18/11/8/2 in a win vs the #11 team in the country will do that.I wished the same thing with Kadary, but somehow he’s still playing & we’re not really talking about him anymore![]()
Pretty much everyone is in agreement that Kadary was/is an elite player and Boeheim not doing everything he could to retain him was a horrible mistake. Very different from the Brown situation since he left entirely on his own, not with the head coach essentially showing him the door.18/11/8/2 in a win vs the #11 team in the country will do that.
Not much to say anymore.
Not true at all. There are receipts from the preseason with people still saying Kadary was lazy and even that Carlos was better than himPretty much everyone is in agreement that Kadary was/is an elite player and Boeheim not doing everything he could to retain him was a horrible mistake. Spoiler alert. #1 Kadary Richmond #95 Maliq Brown #97 Jaquan Carlos I've seen a few of these lists without Eddie being mentioned. There are some pretty good players on this list, but I think Eddie will and has already made an impact. Seems like a leader and great teammate. Plus I think a...syracusefan.com

Great. How much was it?He got significantly more money to go to duke than play at Syracuse that’s not a discussion.
My favorite Kadary SU moment was that NCAA 2nd round win over WVU when he had to come in the last 2:00 to bring the ball up the court since nobody else on the roster could handle the couch burners pressure.Pretty much everyone is in agreement that Kadary was/is an elite player and Boeheim not doing everything he could to retain him was a horrible mistake. Or he's being polite. It's interesting to me that all of the change was the impetus for him to explore his options but that all of the dysfunction on last year's team was not.
I feel like multiple things can be right. Maliq leaving for Duke is unquestionably a better decision for him if we wanted to win. Way better roster, gets to play with NBA draft picks, be part of a championship run etc.. It also really sucks for any Syracuse fan confronting the reality that 1. going to Duke is night and day different and better than staying at Syracuse (who we all want to be a blue blood program) when it comes to winning and 2. that we don't have to be thrilled that he did that. I think questioning his character because of this is way too far. We are fans and they are players. Asking them to have the same loyalty as us is a faulty premise.
We all do want Syracuse to be a blue blood and upper echelon basketball power, but that ship sailed many years ago. Can't really blame Brown for wanting to be a part of a team that at least has the hope for making the tourney and winning a title. That sure is not us and has not been for a while."Syracuse (who we all want to be a blue blood program) when it comes to winning"
