You try to put yourself in the best possible spot but sometimes circumstances change the plan.My best guess is he didn't love the idea that an 18 year old freshman who's never stepped foot on a college court is going to start over him, an experienced junior. Likely feels that he's paid his dues and deserves to start. That is why I'm quite surprised by the Duke interest considering he won't start there, but maybe it's one of those things where if Duke wants you, you don't pass it up. Sucks...but this is the way it is now with portal/NIL.
IF he ends up there the $ incentive has to be the or one of the determining factors, as i assume other schools have offered better fits and minutes.
