Man we suck at the portal

Not sold we are better on offense. Think the defense should be better. I was actually thinking about making a poll asking what the general consensus is. I like bringing in proven productivity, even from smaller conferences.

Just to add, I think the defense would have been better regardless due to Kehres.

IMO we still need

1-2 experienced QBs and 0-1 high potential QB. In theory we should be better here.

We seem set at RB. There is potential for us to be better but right now we seem worse IMO.

Hopefully we are done at WR. We have too many IMO. I don't think we will be as good here. We are replacing 3 quality players, and 2 solid ones. We don't return much production at all. I think this position will be worse.

We lost our TE. I think someone will step up as a replacement.

The OL we lost 3 starters. I think C is a concern, and we need a portal guy there. I would like to see another portal kid to at least push what we have coming back for PT. We don't have much experience which is scary. But coaching was so bad that we should improve this year?

The DL stunk last year but we did lose our best guy IMO. Nowhere to go but up here but it is still an unknown.

We return our LBs and added one more. So we should be set here.

CBs we are all set. But Ss we lost all 3 starters. We probably need 2 portal guys here. One for sure.

We need a long snapper.


So I think we still need to find a half dozen guys, most of which need to have the ability to be plugged in and play.



I know right now this is the only portal window but I would be shocked if it isn't challenged in a court after Spring ball. Which means we could lose more players, but more importantly we can fill any holes. I think the Spring portal is important for a program like ours.

Sums up how I feel, I’m really skeptical on offense. Relying on freshmen and players that have only done it on a lower level. Also just hoping that the O line develops with nobody being added there. On top of Angeli coming off an achilles tear. Defensively I feel pretty good, but the bar was on the floor for that. People in the know saying the QB room will come together nicely so maybe feelings will change after seeing who Fran was able to reel in.

I think OL and S are my biggest concerns.

We lost a lot at WR but I think the talent and system will make everything ok there. We need the OL to be solid and everything will work out even if the skills are worse.

DL there is nowhere to go but up. It is a concern but it was last year too so that is a wash. But at S we have no clue what we have since they have little experience.

OL only lost two starters. We had a ton of guys redshirting. Center obviously key but staff high on several young guys. I'd love to add an experienced guy at backup at very least.

Are you not counting Ferguson as a starter? We even lost our 2nd string C too.
 
did Syracuse not hire some wonky geek dude who's only job is to seek and find talent in the portal ?

I was more focused on guys returning and Ferguson wasn't great anyways.

Mack, Cruz, Byron coming back as starters. need to replace Spoon and Collins.

We have a lot of young depth on two deep but as I mentioned, backup C is probably key for the portal.

Sure Gill had his moments, but he was also a 1 trick pony.

Cook I have no idea.. He disappeared way too often, whether that was scheme or QB play I don't know. The others added up to 15-20 catches didn't they?

To me the Offense went south when we lost JRS.

We lost 5 guys who all played significantly
 
the thing about QB is i hope we never see the 2nd or 3rd in meaningful action.

I’d like the Mercer and or Kennesaw State kid though
