Per John Garcia Manley not taking anymore visits and is solid verbal to SU.

Marrone must have really been racking up the frequent flyer miles today as he an Anselmo also had an in home visit with Wayne Morgan wednesday.

Good to hear. Maybe some of the chicken littles here can finally shut the hell up. Yes, you know who you are.
who would they be;) Lets hope we close strong.

Morgan, Brantley, and I think there is a couple more as well...

That's great to hear. Considering the panic some of the board showed when they thought Manley would end up elsewhere, this should (read: won't) calm the board a bit.

When a kid tells a program, like Mizzou, he needs to compare to be sure he's making the right choice, but is open to consideration, most likely the program will welcome a visit. That said, at this stage of the game, the school will be lukewarm to making an offer. They want confused, unhappy and selfish/egotistical kids that, in their somewhat immature minds, seek bigger and better opportunities because they think they're that deserving. Manley's doing the right thing staying put, he'll be fine here.

Effen Doug , the guy can't seal the deal!

Right... PLEASE remember this one folks... he was ready to take visits until Doug showed up to visit a couple days ago. Now he decided not to take the visits and is solid. Can we stop with the "Doug can't close" b.s. now?

label me not thrilled with Manley who wanted to visit else where but no one would give him an official visit.

Is that really your take? Marrone had an in-home visit with him Friday morning and then later in the day he said he was solid to Syracuse. It would seem to me that he canceled any visits he might have had planned.

Did you choose a school after visiting only one? Did you ever buy a car/house/appliance only looking at one?

Based on the quotes i read from him , my take is he was looking for a bigger fish but his bait wasnt appealing to any bigger fishes.

I don't know about that. He had firm offers from Georgia Tech and Louisville as well as Purdue, Virginia and BC. I'm not sure Missouri or Wake is classified as bigger offers.

Fact is Marrone had an in-home visit Friday morning and I've seen nothing on the net that suggests Mizzou canceled his trip. Manley did the canceling and say what you want but in this case Marrone closed the deal.

I got the impression that his (Manley)HS coach impressed upon him to honor his word from an article I read. I would assume one or both of them may have talked to Marrone regarding the situation.

Hes not in position to be offended.

You're being absolutely ridiculous. Do you know how fickle the current crop of 17-year olds are?

I'm very excited for him to get to Syracuse. As well as a number of this year's recruits.

Ditto

Who cares about the process recruits take as long as they end up at Syracuse. Defensive end is a huge need and this kid seems to have good potential.

When your options arent what you really wanted you have no choice.

Why are you so against this kid? Mountain out of a mole hill IMO.

That's why this recruiting stuff is out of control. Worry about the kids when they get on campus, and how they got there shouldn't matter (within the NCAA rules)! Just as long as they're good enough.
