Sideline Doug is not necessarily the same guy as coaching Doug or locker room Doug.
Agree, I am as critical of Marrone as anyone, his sideline demeanor is a non issue IMO

I don't know, that is why I asked. I like the fact that Marrone doesn't get too high or low on the sideline and it gives the players a calming influence.
yes...a calming influence...just what the sport of football calls for...maybe they can even start perfroming team yoga in the locker room pregame...center themselves...
When RG3 leaves Baylor will have another good QB, obviously not the dymanic playmaker that RG3 is but they will have another good qb, IMO. Sure, geography doesn't hurt but the system helps a hell of a lot as well. Again, strong college system, stems from Mike Leach, with strong recruiters at the O coordinator position, who have mostly lower level college experience and a lot of high school experience and recruiting contacts. It's Briles system, no disputing that and it originates from Mike Leach at T Tech as does Holgorsen's
thank you...briles turned around a worse situation in a much tougher league and somehow got an amazing talent in griffin to come there...but in the end even, with all that talent, he goes for it on offense. part of my point is we watch teams with amazing talent play deceptive offense, use the entire field each and every week...
Worse situation, really?
I'll save you the time, no way was Baylor in worse shape than SU, period.
As far as turnaround, he's 22-25 through this last game.
Here's Briles record, his first three years, 15-22, (4-8, 4-8, 7-6) And he's had this tremendous talent at QB for four years. (Looks like he was injured as a Sophmore and took a redshirt after his third game)
Marrone with two games left, and coming into a worse situation, 17-18.
Current records, 7-3 vs 5-5. Wow, what an impressive difference.

what do you think the line would be if they played?Worse situation, really?

Big2 versus Big East though, you can't even compare the two scenarios, you really can't, it's pointless. Baylor has always been a doormat in the Big 12

you said there wasn't much difference between their 7-3 record and our 5-5 recordWhat difference does that make?
Are you saying it makes a difference what the condition of a program was before the new guy took over?
you said there wasn't much difference between their 7-3 record and our 5-5 record
i think there is a pretty big difference when considering schedules and that it would be reflected in them being huge favorites over us
when you can't recruit over any skill guys
Have you seen what Coach Briles has done at Baylor?!
What do you want? 5th year senior Chew is losing PT every week. The only reason Bailey is getting as many snaps as he is because he is a 4th year senior that has played ever since he got here backed up by freshmen. Are you saying Provo should be benched? Nassib is the 46th ranked QB this week, are you saying he should be sitting?

Again only one other in state offer ... to play with Briles at Houston and then followed him to Baylor ... please don't try to fabricate something and pawn it off as fact ... thanks!
Texas talent helps. Even 3rd tier Texas guys are better than most in the northeast.
Can you please point to where in that wiki article it states that RGIII had only one offer? Regardless, it's not like Wiki is very accurate to begin with.
You do realize that Chew is hurt, right? Bailey is getting so many snaps because Gulley is hurt, but otherwise the reserves aren't good enough to have much impact as sophs (Smith) or frosh (Moore). The WRs who have been recruited haven't had much impact yet either, with West being the only useful guy. West hasn't matched what Sales or Lemon did as frosh. No way would I suggest Nassib should be benched -- but a fair observation is that our reserve QBs haven't shown much so far. I like most of what Marrone has been doing, but the one big gap is the failure to add offensiveplaymakers to the mix. What do you want? 5th year senior Chew is losing PT every week. It states where he had interest ... and offers ... Houston and Baylor were the instate offers and it is consistent with every other recruiting site out there ... rivals and scout ... must be wiki, scout and rivals are all wrong ... go figure.
I'm sorry I'm a little slow. Can you show me where in the Paragraph below it states that Baylor and U of H were his only offers?
, a college football recruiting service, ranked Griffin the fourth-best dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the 42nd-best player in Texas in the high school prospect class of 2008.[4] During the college recruiting period, Griffin was pursued by Stanford, Tennessee, Kansas, Nebraska, Houston, Tulsa, Illinois, Washington State, and Oregon. Griffin initially committed to play for the University of Houston under head coach Art Briles. When Briles left Houston to take the head coaching position at Baylor, Griffin switched his commitment and eventually signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Baylor.[5]
No, I am saying that at this point they should have more skill guys that marrone has recruited making a difference, that is what I am saying. All I read here for 3 years is we don't have the athletes, etc etc. One of the reasons we don't have them yet is because these guys aren't recruiting well enough. I understand that the NYC kids are raw, the O Line prospects need 2 years, most of them.
I am saying that Nassib is very limited in his skill set, he can't throw the ball down the field accuractely. I would say that if Marrone could recruit, that yes he would have been benched because he isn't very good and is very limited. I think the concern is valid consdiering what we read earlier today as well coming from deepthrow, the notion that this staff has their together in the recruiting area is not accuracte. If you are going into Boscoe with that Schtick, you are pissing in the wind
