I think Marrone is a very solid QB coach.

I suspect that he would make a difference with Hunt.

How much I don't know.

Marrone recruited Wilson over Hunt. Hunt might not have ever seen the field with Marrone. He liked pro-style QB's.

Marrone had a verbal commitment from Zach Allen at that point in time and you could tell that he did not think Hunt had the skill set to be a D1 QB.

I hardly think him saying Hunt was on the scout team as a redshirt freshman equates to he didn't think Hunt had the skill set to be a D1 QB. It would make more sense if he had said he was switching Hunt to LB but he didn't think that. In addition, look at Marrone's pick as QB at Buffalo... the guy his former HC said would never be an NFL starter.

He recruited both. Hunt was a 2011 recruit. Wilson was a 2013 recruit. There is no evidence he recruited one "over" the other.

I read the quote on Nunes and I hate the perspective card as much as anyone else. But it seems clear to me he's talking about being criticized not being that big a deal. He's not trying to say that all the losing is ok. I usually cringe when coaches and players talk about how worse things are in other parts s of theworld. But in this case I think he's talkingabou the criticism not getting him down- which is part of being a coach

Regardless of its actual meaning.never ever hide behind todays world wide problem when being criticized. I know when I get slammed its something I've said and conveyed poorly I don't hide because I'm a half-wit. Ironically when I was working and I did something comically wrong in front of coworkers like mishandling the mail machine,my go to comment was" If I had a brain I would be a half-wit". I don't say that any more although I should at times. I felt that regardless of my title, I should be able to handle those simple tasks without telling someone in my department to do it.

this stuff has to factor in how we evaluate marrone. not getting any good qb to campus before leaving really hurts.

i'd give up a pinstripe bowl for a 210 lb qb that can hit the broadside of a barn

Agreed, he probably would have been better off saying something like "criticism is part of the job."
