McCord

Now we know why HS QB's who have the elite arm talent that McCord does get rated so high. Then it's up to you to develop him. I think Day did him a dis-service, and Fran empowering him, and building his confidence is exactly what he needed. If we get to experience a QB who can make the throws Kyle can any time in the next 20 years we'll be in a good place. Saying he will be tough to replace is an understatement. Absolutely special season.

Kyle has the patience of Job. On the field after the game, he gave every kid his time. We were outside the stadium and Kyle was one of the last guys out and my grandkids and their friends called his name and he walked 40 yards to take pictures. No complaints, just made a bunch of kids really happy. Coach Brown walked by and I told him his quarterback is very special and has more patience than anyone I ever met. He just smiled and waved to everyone. My grandson is a huge Chiefs fans and he said to Kyle, he hopes the Chiefs drafts him. Kyle said, “but I want to play.”

I’d hire him as Qb coach the day he laces them up for the last time

What a privilege it has been to watch him play this season.

Thank you Kyle!
If he was just some lightning in a bottle superman I would enjoy this of course but id be less encouraged long term

I think there is a lot the program can learn from this approach. I don't know how much of this passing all the time is by design or on purpose

Consistently good enough to win almost every game

The game is easier this way. Get rid of the ball, get easy yards, do it all the time, and use all four downs to keep the ball

A lot of our success has been McCord’s accuracy. His slant and post throws are terrific and likely difficult to reproduce.

The TD throw against Cal at the end of the game - that was overturned as a drop - blew me away.

The short passing game helps a lot too and it’s basically another form of running. Lots of quick throws. They’re fine picking up a few yards here and there. Gives me confidence long term. Nixon will adapt to what he has too.

The ol has been very good in pass pro. 24 sacks allowed with this volume of attempts is excellent
Makes one wonder how they can be so bad run blocking. Strange dichotomy.

Confluence of player, system, and level of competition. Is it repeatable is the question.
