McFarlane

Must have happened during that TD run against Rutgers. Ooops, that's right.

he hurt his shoulder in the high school all-star game

Wisdom teeth coming out?

Makes sense. Probably realizes, halfway through the season, he isn't playing and it's time to have the surgery.

He called it an upper body injury. LOL.

Wonder if he waited long enough to miss spring ball.

Syracuse freshmen Ben Lewis and Devante McFarlane will miss the remainder of the 2012 season due to upper body injuries that required surgery. Syracuse University team physician Dr. Irving Raphael will perform the surgery on McFarlane on October 18 and on Lewis on October 19. Both McFarlane and Lewis will be evaluated throughout the rehabilitation process. Their status for Spring football will be determined beginning in March 2013. Neither Lewis nor McFarlane have played in any games this season.

Dr. Raphael specializes in arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.

UBI = shoulders?

I think you are right. Like retro said, McFarlane hurt his shoulder in the HS all star game at the Dome. Dr Raphael is by all accounts a wiz working on shoulders.

Even arthroscopic surgery is in vasive to the extent tissue requires removal or cleaned and subject to healing. Of course its less in vasive but are they not wearing pads? This "upper torso" crap is increasing or so it seems.:bat:

I think they are having additional hands attached to their bodies to help avoid fumbles and aid in catching passes. Welcome to the Island of Dr. Marrone.
