I agree that he has the highest ceiling of all the guards, but that alone is not enough to get more playing time. First, he is also farther away from his ceiling than the other three. Second, he is not as experienced as the other three - Scoop is now 5th on the all time Syracuse wins list with 107 victories; Brandon has started 103 consecutive games, and I don't think you are advocating that he gets Dion's minutes. Finally, there is the chemistry issue. MCW seems to understand and accept his role - which is another great quality on his part. What do you think would happen to team dynamics if Brandon was benched after being a 2 year starter, or if 5th year senior and co-captain Scoop was told to be happy with the occasional 8 minute appearance? How do you think the latter would have effected Dion?
MCW is already very good, and the team would be very good if he was pressed into action. But, I doubt it would be 31-1 good. We'd probably be 24-7 and hoping for a 3 seed.[/quote Yes I believe he's better than all the guards right now. I certainly think he would run the team more effectively and be more consistant then Scoop. Scoop has been an absolute 0 the past 2 games but that's what you get from an experienced 5th year senior. Of course Scoop has been the epitome of consistancy throughout his career. Of course he deserves a pass for horrible play and MCW shouldn't be rewarded for his generally consistant solid play because he's a freshman and Scoop is Senior.
