MCW...rook of the year!

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...hael-carter-williams-named-rookie-of-the-year

Congrats to MCW! It's appropriate to give credit when credit is due. Now let's hope that some of the former Cuse players who are active in the NBA can find themselves on winning teams which have a shot at contending for post season success.

The only former Syracuse Basketball player to win an NBA championship was Billy Gabor with the 1955 Syracuse Nationals. Unfortunately that was before my lifetime and I'm waiting patiently... ok, not so patiently for the next one.

Here's how this thread will go down:

1. People post happy things
2. People make stupid comments like "I thought he was bad"
3. People with actual basketball knowledge show why he wasn't very good this season
4. People complain about posters trashing our former players
5. People are banned, post are deleted
6. JHJ comes in at the end and posts a bunch of gifs
7. Tee likes every post
8. Repeat next week

Opportunity really helped at Philly. There, he was able to start and play a lot to showcase and refine his skills to the "point" of this reward. Great job.

Sticky this as protocol.

This is just crazy to me! Wow, what are the odds? Does any other big time college program have this kind of NBA title drought with their players?

Sorry bro but Emeka Okafor didn't go to Duke.

What I liked was that MCW didn't give in to the deliberate losing that is/was part of the Sixers' plan this year. He played uniformly well for most of the year. With Nerlens Noel, and two of the top 12 picks in this year's draft, the Sixers can become an intriguing team in the next couple of years.

The new leadership of the team decided that you really had to tear the team down in order to have a chance to achieve more than middling mediocrity. I think they may have gotten it right.

Jalil Okafor = incoming phenom for Duke
Emeka Okafor = passionately despised denizen who played for the Connecticut Huskies.
