And while Melo was at SU, and when he started down the potentially destructive path of so many suddenly-rich young pro athletes, it was Jim Boeheim who embraced him and embued in him the values of maturity, good citizenship and philantrophy. Jim was the father figure for a kid who did not really have a father. I can't understand how Alan Iverson was more important to him.I reckon Melo probably sees the HOF nod as more of an homage to his career in the NBA, rather that his 1 year in college at SU.
