The Knicks' play has been really disappointing on the west coast. D'Antoni's offense works when you have shooters and good guards that can distribute- the Knicks have neither. There were way too many possessions last night where either Amare or Melo tried to take their man one on one, but it's not like anyone else on the floor is actually a scoring threat. Bibby should never take more than 4 shots a game, he is terrible. But the worst part of the game was undoubtedly the defense as LA shot at 70% for most of the game. It's even worse when you're used to watching SU play defense and then you watch the crap effort NY gives. Novak can shoot- why not give him more minutes if you're not going to defend anyway?
Maybe Chandler, Melo, and Amare can mesh after more games together, and maybe Baron can be the guard the Knicks have been missing, but they're going nowhere if they keep playing like this.

D'Antoni is just a horrible coach. Its sickening to see what Mark Jackson is doing with Golden State defensively early on and know it was between Jackson and D'Antoni for the Knicks job. D'Antoni not only is incapable of teaching defense, he also has no idea how to adjust to the talent he has. Like another poster said, we have no guards right now until Iman and Baron come back and we have average shooters, however we have a monster front line but the end result albeit 3 games in, is borderline playground pickup offense. Sickening. TD/Fields cant go to the bench soon enough for me and STAT is playing like a BUM. /rant

I have a lot of issues with D'Antoni, but I can't hate on the decision to hire him over Jackson. I would be skeptical of hiring a coach who never coached before.

I just love Mark Jackson. Good man and he has passion. Agree with you if it was anyone except Mark Jackson who we all knew would eventually be a head coach.
