If his NBA career is, in fact, over...it would be great to see the university bring him on in some capacity:

Of course, Melo would have to be interested in doing so but, if there is a role that he would be interested in having, it would behoove the university to figure out a way to get him involved...
IMHO, there is no bigger name, other than JB himself, who represents the brand SU athletics, and SU hoops in particular...
You could see, just from the buzz that he generated when he faked the shot courtside, that he is still very much beloved in NYC and is a soon-to-be-Hall-of_Famer, unlike Floyd who is a long-time-ago-Hall-of-Famer...
Everyone from someone who graduated in the 1950s to newly enrolled freshmen know who Melo is and what he means to Orangenation...
