Miami early line: +10

We are guaranteed to see some SERIOUS home cooking.
I don’t know about “home” cooking as we’re home, but ur spot on correct that we will have to beat the refs “ACC” cooking AND the Miami team, I can guarantee you that.

That's what I meant, though I read the post wrong that I replied to. What I meant to say is that the refs will be trying to screw us over. I don't think they care if it's Clemson or Miami playing against SMU.

That was a team decision after the ‘93 fiasco year, where too many guys (like Shelby Hill) were rumored to be more focused on personal stats than team success. The idea was they were playing for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back.

Another thing about the 1994 team, they were 7-4 and didn’t go bowling. Mike Tranghese admitted later that he really didn’t put much effort into lobbying to get Syracuse a bowl bid, which was one of his biggest regrets as Big East commissioner.

As much as fans complain about being treated like a red-headed stepchild in the ACC, it wasn’t any better (and might have been worse) in regards to the football program in the Big East.

Yeah. And they screwed the pooch with the Penn State and Florida State recruitment as well for football

I'm liking how the bulletin board material is lining up for Fran this week. No college gameday, no ACC huddle crew, no top 25 ranking, 10.5 point underdogs at home
where pray tell, is the acc huddle crew going to be? There can't be a bigger game in the ACC this week, can there?

Truth about the BE. The conference also screwed us out of a Gator Bowl berth back when being in premium bowls really mattered.

Oh and they screwed our home hoops schedule year after year as well, sending us to new members on Saturdays so we could draw for them and costing us weekend home games.

I'm glad someone else remembers that when the ACC schedule comes out and people are complaining and talking about how great we had it in BE.

They go to the evening game. Think it’s UVa-VT.

That 94 team was a tough team. Didn’t the 95 team get the gator because Miami was under sanctions? The 96 team was the one who got screwed w a terrible liberty bowl

As Bees said, they go to the 8:00pm ACCN game by default each week.

The story I heard about '94 was that there was a bowl rep in attendance for our last game of the season against West Virginia. I forget which bowl. Supposedly the rep said that if SU just showed anything offensively, even in a loss, then they'd select them.

The worry was that since the team put up 6 and 0 in the games against Miami and BC, before squeaking by a lousy Maryland team, we'd deliver a stinker in the bowl game against a good team.

We got shutout 13-0.

It was stupid that we got left out of a bowl, though. 7 win WVU and 6 win BC made bowls. We were ranked #22 before that last loss to WVU.

Clemson is OG ACC so I wouldn't be surprised if this game is close in the 4th quarter the refs will get the grits signal from Charlotte to help SU and get Clemson to the ACC title game.
