I don't even need to read this to know its a negative article. Its all that clown does now.
This is a renovation of the Dome, like we've talked about here in other threads for 2 years. But long term, I'm still on the train that says long term, the "Dome" goes to South Campus and its abundance of land and highway access. Maybe 10 years now down the road? I would not be surprised if the exterior changes made to the Dome aren't then salvageable to transition to an academic building. Future Medical School? Valuable academic land the Dome resides on.
What abundance of highway access?
Like 10 times! Yes!! Correct!! Way too fast and way too shrouded to be otherwise. So the announcement was just the results of a feasibility study and not an actual plan?

Wrong boardSarcasm. Sorry, thought I used the right font. I am all for renovation of the Dome with a fixed roof.
What if the roof was fixed but the Dome was retractable?Alsacs said:I agree which is why I understand not installing a retractable roof. I have heard that would cost 100 million dollars just for the retractable roof. Unless SU wanted to fully assume that cost it is doubtful we will pursue it.
good idea. I won't go down the road of defending the mayor again and get the thread derailedMichael Benny @MichaelBenny 3m3 minutes ago
SU determines soft roof on @CarrierDome44 can't be replaced. Will need to be hard surface in future. @AlexDunbarNews reports on CBS5 at 5.
Figured the "rumor mill" turned into a Mayoral Dumpster Fire and anything of substance may get lost.
I'm not so sure. Let's assume there is State money forthcoming. Cuomo's MO is to let a bit of info out and then Boom and it (whatever the it is) all of a sudden becomes a done deal. Have seen him do this numerous times. The Chancellor and the Governor are clearly working together on this.Like 10 times! Yes!! Correct!! Way too fast and way too shrouded to be otherwise.
Academic land for what? Which school needs a new building that hasn't already gotten one recently? If SU were to create a new school couldn't they use South Campus? Wouldn't it cost more to tear down a stadium, build a new stadium, and build a new academic building? Many of the dorms are out dated. Why not use that space instead since it would be cheaper?
Having the stadium on South Campus is more convenient but financially it is a lot more costly to move.
I stopped following Dunbar a while ago, he was too much of a negative nelly for me.Dunbar's live report doesn't add anything more than what he already tweeted.
Ainsley Drive backside of Skytop. Where 481 and 81 converge. That site could move cars at warp speed...two lanes heading out when games let out.
