Baffles me why UNC fans think Billy Donovan is going there. There are no NBA coaches that are willingly stepping down from the NBA to coach college. "But the Bulls are bad!" Ok? And? Coaches will take coaching a bad NBA team over willingly going back to the college game 9 million times out of 9 million.

What are you talking about. He was an assistant at UK and coached UF. He was a pioneer in nil before there was nil.

I'm not sure how the timing works for Donovan tho. Does he just resign? Doesnt that cost him a ton of money he is already guranteed? If he waits till season ends and is fired, isnt that WAY too late? You will miss the entire portal and a huge amount of recruiting.

If they were smart, they’d hire McCollum without a moment’s hesitation. He can win a national title. Or McCasland. Honestly, Schertz would be a great option for them too. Too many programs are trying to win the press conference and make a splash hire. Just hire the best coach.

I don't know why anyone would willingly leave the NBA to coach UNC. In the current NIL landscape the psychotic pressure by the fanbase is a detriment on net since they have mental breakdowns if UNC doesn't score on every possession.
