Going to be a bit like the Penn State football search I think. Takes too long but they end up with someone solid.

Problem is time right now. Monday hits and no coach and they are way behind if they aren’t able to retain most of their guys.

How nice would it be to have an administration that isn't afraid to make the tough decisions as well as pony up the money for a splash hire.

States schools almost always have more than private (Duke/Stanford being exceptions, among others)

State schools have more money because they're bigger than private schools, ergo more alums with deep pockets. Most states have laws forbidding the use of state tax money for athletics.

He could potentially develop the next great NBA farm system challenging Duke, Arkansas/Kentucky (Calipari) for the crown. This is a good thing, diluting the number of stacked teams consisting of 5 star players.

I don't know. He hasn't coached in the college level since 2000. If anyone was curious if Donovan could be successful returning to the college game with his resume, I'm not sure how anyone is excited about this hire. The UNC people I know thought they would pull a bigger name. I'm not surprised I think the job is overhyped. I will be interested what his contract is.

I know the NBA regular season can be dull, but the playoffs this year are going to be great. A Thunder/Spurs Western Conference Finals will be as good as basketball gets on Earth.

Yawn…..i loathe the nba. If people like it then have at it. I will be watching the nhl playoffs which is way more exciting
