Michigan 70, Maryland 67

Have been saying since they barely handled Rider at home, Maryland is not a top-5 team. They had no business winning against Wisconsin the other day. Right now I don't even think they're top-10 good.

Tbis is what happens in conference road games. Not sure if it is out of the normal too much this year (perhaps a tad).

Maryland was only a 2.5 point favourite -- in part because their efficiency numbers did not match their #3 ranking.

I dont know about having no business winning at wisconsin. They were up the entire game...

I was going to get all indignant because I thought Maryland was the best team going into this year.

But their kenpom numbers are pretty mediocre for whats supposed to be a top 5 team.

couple big upsets last night . got to watch the entire second half of kansas and a good bit of the end to michigan.
couple thoughts. mountaineer defense was outstanding. they kept the pressure on even with a double digit lead.
secondly 1st time i've seen him but melo trimble apparently had an off night yet diamond stone off the bench is a load. and the wolverines got basically nothing from the bench but they did provide 23 minutes of spot rest for the starters.

It's a little encouraging that after a couple of poor first years in the Big 12, WVU got it going. Obviously they're killing it this year so far.

Mich is similar to Syracuse in that they're lacking in the interior and need to hit a bunch of threes to beat a high-level team. Last night they shot 12/29 from three (41%) but were outrebounded by 10 and got essentially no scoring in the paint.
(oh yeah, and it doesn't hurt if the opposing teams AA guard scores 2 pts with 4 TOs)

I will wait until after a few more games to concede the season. Then, there's the conference tourney.

We have to win the next two games for any chance of turning things around.

I understand that winning is the bottom line, But i just enjoyed this game, style of play etc. Just like gsw and san ant in the nba, while I do not enjoy watching the rockets, cavs. James harden can take as many steps as he needs to get to the rim, as well as some other superstars. Sorry to go off on a tangent, and am absolutely a su fan forever, just don't like their style of play right now
