I wouldn't be that suspicious of those programs. They get 2* and 3* recruits, under the radar type kids who often only have 1 or 2 offers, then develop them over 3-4 years. They did/do a great job with this. I really really doubt Adidas or Nike would funnel $100k to the 400th ranked recruit who probably isn't playing pro basketball in 4 years. A lot of WSU and VCU's stars made huge leaps during college development.
