we don't get to play cole stoudt this year
And Clemson doesn't get to play AJ Long and our 3rd string OL.
Well hopefully not our backup OL at least.

Dude, I admire your conviction. I really do. Incredible
watson is better than dungey now
watson vs SU's defense is a LOT better than dungey vs their's
What else is there to have? This team is capable, but young, and I just do not think any of the teams in the ACC are unbeatables like other teams out there. At this point, this has been such an up and down year, who the knows what could happen next.
I'll leave the 4-8, 5-7's to the rest of you.
Yep. Right way to look at it for sure. Like I said, I tip my hat to you
stoudt was better than long last year. and clemson's defense was better. and they beat us by 10Haha no shitt. And the same friggin thing could have been said last year. Backup Stoudt > Backup Long. Clemson's D > Syracuse's D.

Right now in looking at the schedule Each opponent looks a certain way based off our most recent game. Our view of the next opponent will change literally week by week. The only thing I can say is that I'm confident that we'll be able to play football with a majority of the remaining schedule. As far as W's and L's, who really knows? Just roll the ball out every week and see what happens. And, for the first time I can remember, I agreed with something Bud said on the radio yesterday. He said because football is unlike any other game in that we only play on a weekly basis, and because we have a week to hash over all the results, our opinions tend to become sensationailized one way or another. We talk ourselves into our greatness or lack thereof on a weekly basis until the game.
most of the team is much improved. the pass defense will undo all of it for wins and losses. but at least there won't be a million things to fix. Syracuse is a butterface and the secondary is the faceI try not to get too high after a win and too low after a loss. A season is a grind, a long time and a lot of work.

Is it likely the rest of the year is a rough going? Yep.
I will be pissed if I have to eat my words either way because that means we had yet another non-bowl year. I don't think 7-5 is unrealistic, but time will tell.
Have to start playing some sound football. That crap last weekend was horrific.

i had no hope of the offense doing anything that gameAnd when you watched the game, did it appear that Clemson was a guaranteed win over us?
The talent is obviously greater at Clemson than Syracuse, but the gap looked closer last year.

No but did you watch what he did to OU ... just sayin ...

i was hoping fournette's game would be our worst. that hope died the next gameMaybe we will. That's the problem with predictions, one key injury can really change a team.
I think it's hard to predict anything right now, but I'd have a much better idea after this week's game. Which is the true midpoint anyway. If we lose, I think your scenario is correct, we beat BC. If we win, I think we can get 2 more somewhere and end with 6.
My biggest fear with the D isn't that they can't stop the pass, it's that they can't stop the run. Which will mean a lot of long days. If we could stop the run, but had a bad secondary, you can at least tee off on the QB and win enough battles with sacks to force a few punts or turnovers.
