Mike Haynie: New Chancellor Announcement: Tues 10 AM

Chancellor and President. Why two titles? When I was a student, William Tolley was Chancellor. I Googled the two titles and they are interchangeable. Large university systems like California and North Carolina have a system president and individual university chancellors under the president. Can anyone explain this for me?

It used to be just Chancellor and then in 1952 they changed it to Chancellor and President, I'm not too sure why.

The club here in Northern NJ hosted Mike as our guest speaker at one of our breakfasts many moons ago and I've met him a couple of times since then. He was really impressive, as is what he has done at the IVMF at SU. If he can do that for the school and our athletic program, we are on solid ground. Fingers crossed.
