For those of you doubting the future of this program, all I can say is this...the future can't come soon enough.

Hate to break it to you but Hopkins is part of this mess that were watching. They don't pay him to sit around and wait

You don't think he's been thinking of 1000 different ways to change things once he's King Sheet? Let's give the man a chance before he even takes over

Of course. But it's hard to be excited. If he's going to do everything different from boeheim, why hire a guy who sits next to him? The only reason you go with hop is because he is the next best thing to boeheim

Well, if he implements any significant change, all that will do is make us ask ourselves "hmmmm, so why didn't we just hire someone with a proven track record and recruiting talents to replace JB?", unless Hopkins somehow gets us back in the top 25 first year.

Doesn't Hop run the practices?

We're putting our faith in the guy that runs the practices.

Give Jay Wright anything he wants. Him winning a title last year probably really hurt our chances getting him, though.

We could offer him Calipari money and I doubt we'd get him.

I doubt he ever leaves Nova.

No, he is an assistant coach, until JB is no longer around I don't think people really know what Hop will or won't do, he might tank at monumental levels, but he needs to have the program under his thumb before we lynch him or say what he can or cant do.

I'm not overly optimistic but let's give him a shot at this point

I don't really have a choice, but I hate that there's virtually no chance that SU will hire the best coach it can.

Why would he? 'Nova has 2 NC's to our lone. They also seem to be running on all cylinder's right now while we looking nothing but. And, don't give me that Power 5 school argument, as it means nothing when it comes to hoops and only matters in football.

I have been a big Hop fan and I have posted several times that he had earned the opportunity. Of course, that was based upon an assumption that there would be some semblance of successful continuity to hand off the reins. I never imagined what is going on this season could have happened.

I always thought Mike was a superior recruiter and had great energy. He embodied hustle as a player and I thought he would instill effort in his players. I really wish for him to get his opportunity after all those years of waiting.

However, that being said, if this team continues on the present course, not just losing, but losing in embarrassing fashion to mediocre rivals the there may not be any real choice but to totally houseclean as it is impossible not to include Mike in the situation where the staff has apparently lost touch with the players. Just can't bring Mike in to Coach players who have quit on him.

I saw the 39 - 29 score at the half & I figured we would at least make a run at some point in the 2nd half. Never dreamt our biggest run would be by the walk-ons.
