I love Coach Leach’s honesty. Recently came across this video from his Texas Tech coaching days and the speech could be a repeat for our season so far. Warning - the language is explicit, but the message resonates precisely to our season. Bet Coach Babers has had these discussions behind closed doors this year.

Fantastic. Tough no baloney. Ohana could take a lesson. Dinos post game press conference was terrible in my opinion. How could he ever state that we played hard. Also the comments about injuries, bad breaks, and youth. All excuses.

Send this to Babers.

Worst part of it is that none of the guys that were jogging around out there or standing up and not hitting anybody or half running their routes will lose any playing time because they are such superior talent (NOT). That is part of the problem with the attitude of this team is no consequences for bad play because the staff gives the baloney the other guys aren't ready or good enough. Well got news for you, the guys playing don't look ready and aren't playing any good either. Lets see what the last three games show us going into 2020.

I cant begin to imagine how guys like Cam dont get any snaps when you have T Harris acting like a petulant child. If a coach allows guys to play that make repeated mistakes, lack effort or worse cop an attitude that is how you lose a team. Dino needs to toughen up, cut the push ups on the sideline baloney and be their coach not their Dad.

After watching the Coach Leach video above, then Watch the LaFamilia preseason hype video beginning at 1:40 to watch our self appointed starting QB walk in during summer workouts like Rocky Balboa all happy about his spray tanning. I was worried at that time whether the team was on such a emotional high from the last season that they would not be mentally tough in 2019. Don’t forget we’re in arguably the toughest division in college football outside the SEC West and Big10 East. Not sure if Coach Babers and his Ohana LaFamilia message can toughen up and change course for 2020 because we’ve been toast all year. Players and coaches are both to blame imo.

Where was the QB competition this year? That falls squarely on the coaches and recruiting the position. Even with our lack of quality depth at the QB position, where are we in QB recruiting for 2020? We have no commits and our best chance for a quality recruit is a cast off from a peer school who lost the QB1 position to a true Freshman. the fact is, most top schools have multiple four and five star players at the most important position in football and we do not. Even though our offense is QB friendly, we play in a great conference in perfect weather conditions, We still lose recruits to programs that have starters with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

And yet there he sits this year at 1-4 4-4 and also fired his DC mid season.

I seriously can’t fathom people who trash the OHana message and get all bent about it. there are different ways and it’s not all meathead.

HCDB press conferences, to me, show a guy who’s a professional and can keep his emotions in check. You don’t throw your team under a bus at a PC. And who’s to say HCDB doesn’t have some candid discussions in the locker room? Me thinks he does, at least that’s how he comes across to me.

The assumption that there is no accountability is supported by no facts and is at odds with Dino’s character and past teams. *Something* isn’t right. But body language doctors and arm chair psychologists analyzing pressers is dumb. “The players had fun over the summer” seems extra lame.

Gerg also had controlled press conferences and didn’t throw his team under the bus. You are correct about Coach Leach’s underperforming team this year, but he’s being talked about as a candidate at FSU for their HC position. Don’t forget he’s had great success in Lubbock and Pullman; not exactly DMV, Atlanta metro or South Florida.

Yeah, there are lots of different ways to handle things that can be effective. Dino appears to be very selective about when he makes a public show talking about something. It's just his way.

Now, yeah, I do think that means sometimes with the press he engaged in coach speak. But I can't take that to mean when the press isn't there that he talks exactly the same way to the players and coaches.

Wow literally the same exact position we are in, and man I love how he got right to the point.

leach wasn’t doing a press conference.

you know who else didn’t make it a habit to trash their team in public? Coach Mac.

No he didn't. Gump looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown and cry half the time and ranted about the little engine that could. When Dino starts to recite childrens books and talks about Isis then we know he's lost it - instead of arm chair psychologist talking about the way his arms are folded must mean something.

Leach has not been talked about by any FSU people. Yes Leach is a good coach and has had a lot of success. He's also been a HC for 18 years. During that time he's had exactly two 10 win seasons in those 18 years. Dino has three 10 win seasons in 8 years. One at each stop. Leach has been at Washington State 8 years now. He's 53-44. He had 3 losing seasons there in his first 4 years. Same as Dino/Syracuse. It took Leach 6 years at WSU to be .500. His conference record in 8 years is .500 at 34-34. Dino is currently 21-25 through 4 years. Lets see where we sit after 6 years.

Damn facts.

Texas Tech was 5-3 after the loss to Texas A&M, which prompted Leach's pointed comments. While the team was apparently not meeting expectations to that point, I had assumed from his remarks that they were in the middle of a historically embarrassing season. That was not the case, and in context his address seems a little overwrought. Nevertheless, they ended up 9-4; so, maybe it had a positive impact.

Didn't we see the same thing with Devin Butler for most of last year? Im not a fan of Coach Babers blind loyalty in situations like this.

What do they say as a coach u either teach it that way or u allow it and either way it’s on the coach.

Mike Leach's theme song. Now you messin' with a SOB.

I love Leach but everyone's different. people just need to relax here, talking about being tougher etc is just internet banter. Dino will right the ship or we will go find another HC in a couple years ( WHICH WOULD SUCK AGAIN) but coaching styles are all over the place but I would be willing to bet that babers knows what needs to be done after the season.

Back in my day, etc etc stuff is just ridiculous, IMO. I am not one that thinks it's beneficial to run down college players in a press conference after a game but just my opinion. Behind closed doors is very different

that all may be true. i think at times he looks lost to me. i think he hangs onto his alleged fast offense concept, as he is to stubborn to try something else.. this team needs fundamentals. they need to focus on assignment and execution, not getting the next play off. they might even try to huddle up, where there is communication, cohesion eye contact and a sense of team. try something. that may not result in any success, but try it, or try something else----whats the difference.
