Agree, reason I love Stern so much is he does a great interview but still gets his self depricating and other humor in there without being onbnoxious. he had a great interview with Bill Joel that I heard a few weeks ago

Mad Dog always reeled him in. I listened to them every day after school back in CT.

Definitely an institution, though the older I got and the more I knew about sports, the more I'd take some issue with what they said.

They may have hated each other, they may not have, but they definitely had chemistry.

MW gives very good testimony to how Jim would have no clue. "Entire team could be at Gate 8 and Jim would be a Gate 9 reading a book" "Jim NEVER would go into another persons room on the road, if he needed someone, they came to his room" MW understand why Jim responded the way he did.

He's a recluse. Back when he was recruiting SAm Perkins I saw him in Rochester at the hotel the team was staying at. They just beat Vill. in a hard fought game and Rolli M. was down the hall holding court with all the VU fans. WE went into the bar it is completely vacant except for this man sitting in the back. It is JB and for the entire time we were there he sat alone watching golf on TV.

Lets ESPN off the hook cause PS didn't go to the SPD or SU when they had tape back in 2003 either. That's BS. They both are responsible for inappropriare behavior. One doesn't provide an excuse for the other. If ESPN had a tape saying that a dirty bomb was to be detonated in Times Square and didn't go to authorities would they be excused if PS had the same tape and didn't do the same. Let the cops decide if its real or not. That tape was a dirty bomb.

To clarify the timeline: this interrogation happened since the story broke open, right? It's not something brought up a month or so ago when nobody had an idea this was coming?

I watched/listened Mike and the Mad Dog for a few years back in the early 2000's, and I thought they were really good. My biggest beef came in the sense that Mike wants to come off as a baseball expert, but to call yourself that you have to at least be casually educated about the farm systems in order to predict what a team's future or possible moves may look like... and those two were HORRIBLE in that aspect. I stopped listening when the Bonds issues became everyday fodder... then it didn't feel the same when that whiny jackhole Russo left the show.

We still don't know why on earth the Secret Service is involved. This is the most bizaare unanswered question in my mind.

Yup, the Jones interview was tremendous as was this. He also had a great interview with Mike Tranghese after Pitt and SU slinked away into the night, not surprising considering he went to St John's and has always been a Big East guy.

He is one of the few sports shows that is willing to blow off 2 or 3 commercial breaks when "sports news" is breaking and will give a guest 40 min to speak
